Another month and more books I have read. Today I am doing my monthly review on the books I read in April. If you have read any of these books I would love to hear about it in the comments.
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
The Unhoneymooners has been my favorite most recent book I have read. It was very cute, appealing, funny, and a light hearted romance book.
"Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion . . . she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.
Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there’s a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.
Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is . . . Olive doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, the more she pretends to be the luckiest woman alive, the more it feels like she might be."

Another romantic comedy that would be a great summer beach read.
"Cesca Shakespeare has hit rock bottom. She has no job, no cash and no possible way of paying next month's rent. So when a friend offers her the free use of an Italian villa she jumps at the chance. That's before she finds out the house belongs to her arch-enemy, movie star Sam Carlton.
Having just hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons - again - Sam needs a place to hide out. Where better than his family's gorgeous empty villa on Lake Como? Except when he arrives, it isn't as empty as he'd hoped."

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase
A Cinderella type story line, what would you really do for love? Would you give up your thrown?
"Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, aka “His Royal Hotness,” is wickedly charming, devastatingly handsome, and unabashedly arrogant―hard not to be when people are constantly bowing down to you.
Then, one snowy night in Manhattan, the prince meets a dark haired beauty who doesn’t bow down. Instead, she throws a pie in his face.
Nicholas wants to find out if she tastes as good as her pie, and this heir apparent is used to getting what he wants.
Dating a prince isn’t what waitress Olivia Hammond ever imagined it would be.
There’s a disapproving queen, a wildly inappropriate spare heir, relentless paparazzi, and brutal public scrutiny. While they’ve traded in horse drawn carriages for Rolls Royces and haven’t chopped anyone’s head off lately―the royals are far from accepting of this commoner.
But to Olivia―Nicholas is worth it.
Nicholas grew up with the whole world watching, and now Marriage Watch is in full force. In the end, Nicholas has to decide who he is and, more importantly, who he wants to be: a King... or the man who gets to love Olivia forever."

Colton was my favorite Bachelor so far. I was a fan of his on the Bachelorette and was excited he became the next Bachelor. I enjoyed reading what really happens behind the scenes. Now I wish I could rewatch the whole season to look at everything in different eyes.
"A memoir for Bachelor Nation and anyone who believes in the magic of love, The First Time carries a simple but powerful message: It’s okay to laugh and cry and occasionally jump over a fence, if it means coming one step closer to the right person."
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO

ReplyDeleteI thought the Unhoneymooners was an okay read. Not my fave Christina Lauren book. But that was after I read a bunch of them and felt like they were becoming formulaic. I didn't realize Colton had a book. I enjoyed his season.
ReplyDeleteSummer's Lease looks good and pefectly timed rolling into summer!

The UnHoneymooners looks cute. I've actually never watched the Bachelor show. A few of my co-workers were obsessed with it, so I feel like I know too much anyway. Hahaha... Thanks for sharing - enjoy your month!
