Hey loves. Happy Tuesday. We are rounding up what I read in December, which was Christmas romances and random books that I started throughout the year but never finished. My goal was to finish them before the new year, which I did for a few. Linking up with Steph for Show your Books

In 2021 I read a total of 68 books. My goals for 2022 is to read 70 books. That means about 5-6 books a month. 1 book a bible study/devotional type book, 1 book a personal development book. The rest for fun.

Lets take a look back at December:

Title: Blue Collar Service Boys

Author: Aria Hawthorne

Genre: Erotic Romance

My Rating: 3 out of 5

Goodreads Description: Aria Hawthorne is an author of romance and erotica stories. Blue-Collar Boys is her debut erotica short story collection, which includes Blue-Collar Boys Book #1 - Service Calls and Blue-Collar Boys Book #2 - Repairs & Maintenance.

My Review:  Three very short stories that were over before they really got started. Even though they are so short they are still steamy, hot, and realistic. Left me wanting longer stories.

No longer available on amazon.

Title: Christmas Ever After

Author: Karen Schaler

Genre: Romance

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description:While promoting her next novel, a Christmas love story, author Riley Reynolds is caught off guard when she’s asked during a live national television interview how she can write about romance when she still hasn’t found “the one” herself. Scrambling for an answer, she quickly answers that she has had great love in her past and that love inspired her novels.

Little does she know that this one offhanded remark will turn her world upside down. Three of her ex-boyfriends see the interview, and each, believing she’s talking about him, shows up for her Christmas Camp book event at the Christmas Lake Lodge, determined to rewrite his happily-ever-after with her!

Over the festive weekend, Riley’s old boyfriends compete to win her heart, pulling out all the stops while planning the most romantic Christmas dates on the planet. Despite herself, Riley starts falling for each guy— again—but for different reasons. As Riley revisits each relationship and discovers more about herself, she embraces the magic of Christmas and finally finds true love and her own Christmas ever after...

My Review: Cute, funny, light hearted read. This was probably my favorite Christmas book of the year.

Title: Meet Me Under the Mistletoe

Author: Stacey Kennedy

Genre: Romance

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: Penelope Carter has won the "wild child" award for years. Determined to bring joy instead of irritation over the holidays, she's arrived at River Rock to stay at her cousins brewery during the holidays, ready to earn her way off the naughty list. But when a few too many Christmas cocktails and a devilishly sexy cop from her past derail her plans, the nice list looks unreachable.

The last time Darryl Wilson saw Penelope, he was seventeen years old and had given her a hot first kiss. Ten years later, Penelope is a sweet distraction after his divorce, but she's also the sexiest trouble he's ever known. And when she becomes his trouble during the Christmas festivities that are meant to lead to his long-awaited promotion, he realizes that Christmas is about to get complicated.

But holiday wishes are sweeping through the snowy small town in Colorado, and if Darryl and Penelope survive the season, they'll see a little bit naughty is more than a little bit nice. And this Christmas might be the best one of all.

My Review: I got all the feels from this book. I loved how the characters were so different but complimented each other so well.

Title: Nanny for Santa's

Author: Cassie Cole

Genre: Erotica Romance

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: Three guys, a five-year-old, and a bar.

It’s not the start of a joke. It’s my life this Christmas.

Grayson Cage is a Sexy Santa.
Yeah, I know. Mall Santas typically aren’t very hot.
Yet after seeing what he looks like under his costume?
The tall, dark, and handsome man is all I want for Christmas.

But Grayson isn’t just a juicy piece of eye-candy.
He needs me to watch his daughter while he’s working at the mall,
And sometimes at night when he’s managing his bar, the Thirsty Moose.
But he’s not the only one giving me flirty smiles...

Ethan is the charming blond bartender. Quick with a joke and a perfectly-mixed cocktail, he instantly makes me feel at home at the bar.
Then there’s Cole, the huge, grumpy bouncer. This guy looks like he spends all his time pumping iron in the gym, not checking IDs at the front door. But even though he’s about as rude to me as possible, I can tell there’s a secret he’s hiding from everyone…

I spend my days playing with Grayson’s daughter, Max.
And my nights getting to know these three swoony men.
Will I get everything I’ve ever wanted this Christmas?
Or will the four of us get coal in our stocking?

My Review: This was my first reverse harem I have read. I enjoyed the story, the chemistry, the little girl so touching and realistic single dad story line. I have so many questions on dating 3 guys at the same time.

Title: Mom Truths

Author: Cat and Nat

Genre: Parenting

My Rating: 3 out of 5

Amazon Description:

My Review: I love Cat and Nat. Their short skits, podcasts and Youtube are very relatable. I had high hopes for the book. It took me a while to read. I think if I was a new mom it would be more relatable.

Title: Breathe Mama Breathe

Author: Shonda Moralis

Genre: Parenting

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Amazon Description: Moms can feel as if they are sprinting through life, crashing onto the pillow at day’s end only to start again the next morning. In Breathe, Mama, Breathe, psychotherapist Shonda Moralis outlines the benefits of daily meditation and shows moms how to do it—in just five minutes! Plus, she shares over 60 “mindful breaks” that will help moms tune into their own well-being (along with everyone else’s):

  • Eat a mindful breakfast—with no phone, TV, or newspaper!
  • Cuddle your child and take three deep breaths together.
  • Give yourself a mindful-mommy high five—because moms can use positive reinforcement, too.

Every mom—whether caring for a new baby, an overscheduled grade-schooler, or an angsty teen—can become a mindful mama

My Review: I enjoyed all the tips and different suggestions how moms, or anyone really can take a minute to breathe, re-evaluate situations and have a "calmer" life. I use quite a few of her tips.

  1. Great idea to do a cleanup of books you wanted to read through the year before the end of it. I should think of that instead of an aimless last week of reading but I probably will not LOL
