Our family has the tradition of having lasagna for dinner on Christmas Eve. This is the recipe I used this year and it was loved by everyone, even the picky girl who doesn't eat anything.
Christmas Eve Lasagna
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion diced
- 4 Tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- salt/pepper
- 1 package lasagna noodles
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce
- brick of Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 12 oz Ricotta cheese
Directions:
- In a large pot cook noodles per direction on box
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet brown ground beef and sausage
- Add in onion and garlic. Saute until onion is translucent.
- Add in seasoning.
- In a baking dish, spread bottom with a little sauce.
- Layer with noodles, meat mixture, Ricotta cheese, Mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat
- Top with noodles and Mozzarella cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and continue baking for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 15 minutes before cutting.
- Serve.
