Hello Monday

Hey friends. It is crazy that it is the last weekend in October. I am ready to finish our fall bucket list, and celebrate Halloween with my kids. How was your weekend? Our weekend was another busy but a good busy with some relaxing. There was some Halloween, last soccer game, and clam chowder. I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Friday

I have two spoiled brats, who spoil themselves and put their coats in the dry to warm them up for a few minutes before heading outside for the bus.

Grocery shopping done for the week. I went to a different Aldi's after the last few times feeling uncomfortable at the location closet to me. I found everything I needed, the store wasn't busy, and I didn't notice a huge difference in prices. It does add a good 20 minutes drive to go the other location though.

I had originally planned homemade sourdough pizza. Then I saw these cute fun Halloween pizzas that we have had previous years and decided to grab them instead.

I hate to say they didn't taste as good this year.

Off to Trunk or Treating. Anna borrowed Owlet from PJ Mask costume from a friend and Austin was a construction worker. The trunk or treat was at the kids school. You were suppose to previously register to go and it was a nightmare. 665 kids registered, over 900 kids showed up. It was only an hour long and was pure chaos. Cars were running out of candy, kids were pushing their way to get more candy, destroying decorations and grabbing handfuls of candy. I stayed close to Anna after a bigger kid pushed her out of the way once. My kids had fun and got a few pieces of candy and were happy.

Saturday

Morning cuddles while watching Zombies houses, which is a house flipping show that they are obsessed with. It is Anna's hand on Austin's arm that melts my heart. Anna was also very kissy and Austin wanted nothing to do with her. This lasted two minutes and they were fighting.

Then they were playing and back to being loving.

Even with it a chilly morning Brian got outside to start on yardwork. I look out the window and Austin is helping rake leaves. (he told me he was going outside to ride his bike).

Anna went outside and helped too. She was excited I found her small rake.

Then comes the best part, jumping in the leaves.

The fun and memories of leaves. It is nature's free fun.

Anna's last soccer game of the season. She never fought to go to her practices or games. But when we got there more times than not she just didn't want to play.

I loved seeing the progress in all the kids especially Anna. But this is the end of our soccer era. All three kids have tried soccer and it just isn't there thing, at least right now. Next Anna is doing swim lessons.

After soccer we relaxed at home and watched the Ohio State game. I made stuffed pepper soup, which turned out delicious. Brian did more yardwork, and some work around the house.

We ended the night with a Halloween themed movie night with popcorn. The popcorn is from my wellness box and it was so good. We watched little short episodes on Disney plus that were Halloween themed, Toy Story Terror, Minnie Mouse Witches, Mickey Mouse, and Cars/Mater Halloween episodes. It is what Anna and Austin somewhat agreed to.

Sunday

Sunday morning started off with church. Anna wasn't her normal dancing self, at least as crazy, but there were a lot of people and a lot of kids.

Ella's Girl Scout troop had a volunteer event to help at our local mall with their trick or treating. Ella said it was also crazy.

It was out weekend to host the Cleveland Browns game get together with our neighbors. Each weeks game switches between the three families houses. The food is based on the team we are playing against. This weekend was Baltimore and seafood themed. We had crab cakes, crab fries, and clam chowder. The drink of the night was Orange Crush, orange juice, club soda, vodka and pebble ice (which we got from Chic Fila)
The boys spend most of the afternoon outside. They were playing in the pond then ended up attempting to build forts out of dead trees/branches. It was wonderful to see them outside playing together using team work to try and build these forts and there was no fighting. Bonus they came up with this idea themselves and they had permission to play xbox but opted not to.

The girls went back and forth from inside and outside. From playing Barbies, coloring, chalking, jumping on the trampoline and in the woods with the boys. For the most part they all got along too.

Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,

  1. Wow-the trunk or treat does sound like a nightmare. Glad your kids were still able to have fun. We're big fans of the orange crush. Our lakeside tiki hut makes a good one-they use fresh squeezed oranges and mandarin vodka. So summery! Have a nice week!
