This past Saturday Brian and I both had off, it was my weekend with Ella, and it has been an unusually warm October. We decided to take the kids to a neighboring city's Fall Festival. It was advertised on Facebook to have trick or treating, mini pumpkin patch, games, hay maze, bouncy house, giant slide, face painting, and crafts. It sounded like a lot of fun.
We were and were surprised by the amount of people there. Here is the line for trick or treating. Plus there were different characters along the way available for photo opps. (Ella didn't want her picture taken with any)
We had fun even though it was unorganized, chaotic mess of mayhem. With it being so nice out our costume selection changed. Ella decided to be Batgirl, and Austin Superman.
Austin enjoyed his leisurely stroll in the stroller. He actually slept through half of it.
Ella ended up getting a good amount of candy, plus 2 necklaces, a minion game, and a pencil. She was happy.
These were the two pumpkins they got from the pumpkin patch. I expected to have to pay but was pleasantly surprised they were FREE. I was shocked when we were leaving towards the end of the event there were still pumpkins left.
It ended up being a lot of fun. But I don't know if I would go again. We never found any of the other activities besides the trick or treating. The trick or treating was down main roads that weren't closed off with crazy stupid drivers at every intersection. We didn't see any cops directing traffic or keeping the kids safe. We saw a few drivers get aggressive at the stopped traffic, amount of people .... The event is a great idea but needs to be more organized.
