Hello Monday 10.19.2026

Hey loves. How was your weekend? Our went by to fast. There was some fun, lots of time in the kitchen, some of rest, and a Marines ceremony.

Also how is it the middle of October already. We had our first freeze warning and had to bring the flowers into the garage. I am ready for cozy weekends with the fire going curling up with a book.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Friday October 16

You would have thought it was a full moon based on the attitudes and arguments before school from 2 out of 3 kids. Both of which we were arguing over clothes. One wanted to wear sweat pants that didn't match on picture day, the other wanted a see-through shirt. I ended up winning both disputes.

The kids all went off to school and Brian headed to work. I got to cleaning the house. From dusting to putting things away to a much needed vacuuming. I watered my house plants (I use a water gage and check them every Friday)

Then I went to pick up my grocery order I placed for Aldi. I also went to Walmart, Target, and Giant Eagle on the hunt for pomegranate seeds per Anna's request. I finally found them. (guess what she also came home from school and tried them and didn't like them so I am now eating them)

I spent the rest of the day before the kids got home finishing up Every Year After on Prime. If you enjoyed The Summer I Turned Pretty then you will probably like Every Year After.

The Guardians game was planned for 8pm. Our neighbors came over for dinner and to watch, plus they brought their dogs that enjoyed Brian's company. The game ended up getting postponed due to heavy rain.

Ella went to the high school football game. She goes all out. It was jersey night so she had on Brian's old high school jersey and did her green make-up. Her eyes really popped.

A late bedtime around 10pm and this girl insisted on a picture of her mermaid comforter. This used to be Ella's.

Saturday October 17

I got to sleep in until 630. We had an early morning of dropping Austin off for the Young Marines. We dropped him off then came home and got ready to drop the camper at my parents house for the winter. We are not allowed to store it at our house per city rules, we already broke the rules for having it sit in our driveway for 5 days. Getting sick wasn't on my calendar and threw everything off.

We took Anna with us to my parents. Brian dropped off the camper then took my van and left Anna and I at my parents for a little bit while he went to meet a client for a little while. Then Brian dropped me off at home and he and Anna went to his brother's house to watch the Ohio State Football game.

Ella and I had plans to do a little baking. We made pumpkin mocha syrup for coffee.

and pumpkin maple granola for yogurt.

I took a much needed and deserved nap while Ella worked on her boyfriends Halloween costume.

Ella's Girl Scout troop went to Carlisle Halloween walk. They go every year. A few of them decided to dress up.

We ended up at our neighbors watching the Guardians game on one TV and Hocus Pocus on the projector.

While the girls worked on their gymnastics and having no spine.

Anna and I went home around 930 while Brian stayed to watch the game.

Sunday October 18

Up and at em and off to church. We took two vehicles so Anna could go to Sunday school and I could run and grab a rotisserie chicken to make some soup.

At church Anna pointed out a bump on the back of one of her ears. At first I thought she had just lost the back to her earring and there was just some dried blood. After further looking her ear ate the back of her earring. I was able to take her earring out and safely get the back out of her ear. Not the excitement for the day I wanted. when she got home from church I put her in different earrings and changed the back to a large back. We will be checking her ears twice a day and changing her earrings more frequently for now.

I made myself at home in the kitchen. Baked up a quiche for breakfast for the week ahead.

Also made some feel better soup with fresh grated ginger, garlic and tumeric, and fresh rosemary, thyme, and sage. From my taste testing yesterday it was delicious. I can't wait to have it for lunches this week.

Austin had his Young Marines recruit graduation. He had spent two weekends (this past weekend and one last month) at recruit training. We are so proud of him. He saw the Young Marines in the 4th of July parade and wanted to find out more about them. He went to their open house and wanted to join.

The first buck we have seen in our yard this year.

This girl. In two days she has mastered her new trick and having her feet touch the mat. She starts "circus kids" this week which is a mix of gymnastics and acrobatics.

Our neighbors were over for dinner and watching the Guardians game. Then it was time for bed.
