My little man turned 2 on Saturday. He has come such a long way and grown so much. ( I know they all do) We had a rough start with coming a few weeks early, having a very fast delivery (less than 20 minutes of labor) to being in the NICU for a week, had an infection, issues with his breathing/lungs, four holes in his heart (healed on its own), an umbilical hernia (had surgery to fix last year), and liquid outside his kidneys (still having to keep an eye on). I think that it all the major problems we have had along the way. For now we have a good bill of health and a happy, healthy, smart, growing, adventurous, adorable, loving 2 year old.
I have to admit, I am normally a pinterest mom, especially when it comes to birthday parties. I had decided on a Tigger and Pooh birthday party for Austin this year, but couldn't find any cute decorations and we were trying to stick to a budget. I had originally planned on theming all the food like I normally do, but Brian over ruled. This actually worked out better this way. I got extremely sick on Friday night. My parents, Brian and my girlfriend, Heather came to my rescue and ended up setting up the whole party and hosting it while I hid in the bedroom all day. Yes I missed my sons 2nd birthday. I will somehow make it up to him.
I want to thank my mom so much for doing this cake for Austin. I found the Wilton cake pan at a thrift store and bought it, found ideas online, and decided to make it. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. It was a lot more work than I had anticipated. But again she came to my rescue helped, well really did all decorating and it turned out so cute.
This was the best picture I could find of Austin in his Tigger outfit (with his buddy looking like they are going to get into trouble).
We are so grateful for everyone who came to the party. He has been blessed with so many new clothes and toys.
He loves having "boy" toys instead of always playing with his sisters hand me downs or something pink. He really is all boy and loves trucks and cars.
I saw this and thought it was the cutest thing. Austin blowing out his candle while sitting on his daddy's shoulders. (in reality he probably was stopping him from running away)
These two just make a seat anywhere. They used the steps to eat at instead of the table.
Overall it was a great birthday party. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I wish I could have enjoyed it with everyone, but I would rather not gotten everyone sick and rescheduling at the last minute was not an option. Austin had a great birthday party that he deserved.
