Homemade Granola

For the longest time I have talked about making homeamde granola to go over yogurt. It just gives it that little bit of added crunch that I love. Store bought yogurt can have so many ingredients, expensive, high in sugar, and more. I tried it out for the first time and it was a win. Next time I will probably try different nuts, maybe shredded coconut, or even dried fruit to mix it up.

Homemade Granola

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (I used walnuts)
  • 3 TBSP brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1.4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 TBSP coconut oil

Directions:
  1.  Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  2. Line large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Mix oats, nuts, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. In a small sauce pan, stir honey and coconut oil until smooth.
  5. Pour honey mixture over oat mixture. Toss until evenly coated.
  6. Spread mixture evenly on baking sheet.
  7. Bake until golden, about 35-40 minutes. Stirring every 10 minutes.
  8. Cool.
  9. Enjoy
  10. Store in air tight container for up to 30 days.
