Hey loves. Happy Wednesday. We have made it halfway through the week. This week seems to be dragging for me but I was not feeling well on Monday and playing catch-up to all things on Tuesday. Today I am linking up with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond for Wednesday Hodpodge.
1. Thursday (Oct 13) is National Train Your Brain Day. What do you do to keep your brain in tip top shape? Is it helping?
I guess I have never really thought about training my brain and didn't know it was a national day either. So I goggled it and found an article from Wikihow with 13 ways to train your brain everyday. Out of these I partake in- reading everyday, exercise daily, eat healthy diet, get plenty of sleep, maintain social relationships, and play a puzzle game (Disney Emoji Blitz)
2. You can sit with anyone in the world and 'pick their brain'...whom do you choose? Tell us why?
My grandparents to learn more about our family.
I wish I could say someone famous who did amazing things, but I don't know what I would say to them.
3. What's something happening in the world (or your corner of it) right now that you have trouble 'wrapping your brain around'?
This would be a hot topic with so much going on in the world. I avoid "drama" and try to keep things light. On a light note we have a local "donut shop" that doesn't open until 11 and is over $30 a dozen. I would love to support them but I don't see them staying in business.
4. On a scale of 1-10 where do you fall in the pumpkin fanclub? (1=blech, 10=make it all pumpkin all the time) Tell us something delicious you've tasted recently that had some pumpkin in it somewhere.
10 all the way. I love everything pumpkin. I made a sourdough pumpkin bread last week that was so good.
5. Share a favorite song, book, or movie with an autumn title, setting, or vibe.
I can't pick just one. Here are a few of my favorite fall/Halloween movies:
- Hocus Pocus
- Practical Magic
- The Craft
- It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
- Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
- Step Mom
- all things Hallmark
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am loving the changing of the leaves and seeing the pop of colors. We haven't gone to any fall activities as a family yet this year besides going to a local farm and buying pumpkins. It feels so weird, but we have decided we are only going to one place this year.
We have not gone to the pumpkin patch yet and I have got to make time for it!
ReplyDeletemy kids are now sick. It doesn't sound like we will be going this year now
DeleteI can tell we are from different eras, as I didn't recognize any of the movies other than Charlie Brown. LOL
ReplyDeletemost of the movies were from the 90s. Step Mom has Julia Roberts in it, but some people don't associate it with fall.
DeleteDidn't know about National Train Your Brain Day either, very cool to read about it!
ReplyDeleteI love the saying" we learn something new everyday" it is so true
DeleteWe'll be at my daughter's for Halloween this year and I'm looking forward to being in a neighborhood with a lot of trick or treaters. $30 for a dozen donuts???Yikes!! My hubs would pay though lol.
ReplyDeletemy in-laws are coming to my house this year for trick or treaters so they can see kids. Their street has like 6 kids
DeleteYou really came up with a lot on #5. I had such a hard time. A donut shop that doesn't open early in the morning seems just wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteI will admit I goggled fall movies because I couldn't think of any besides Hocus Pocus
DeleteWe are loving the changing colors here too. A tree in our backyard is dropping the most amazing red leaves with yellow stripes in the middle.
ReplyDeletethat sounds so pretty mixed together
DeleteI hope you get to watch the new one. I would love to hear what you think of it.
