Hello Monday with Weekend Recap

Hey friends. How was your weekend? I haven't shared a weekend recap in what feels like forever. Our weekend was busy but a good busy. I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday

Friday

It is officially cauldron season. I decorated for fall and Halloween on Thursday and got my Hocus Pocus mug out.

Waiting on the school bus. We use to have rocks at the end of the driveway but Brian got rid of them. Now they sit on the rocks in the flower bed.

Switched up my grocery shopping day. I have to say Friday mid morning was calmer, less crowded, and everything was stocked.

While doing laundry I noticed Anna decorated with the Halloween window clings. I thought it was funny that she placed the Grim Reaper at the backdoor.

Anna was in her room reading. Then ran downstairs so excited with this book. Her teacher also has Pete the Cat Pete's Big Lunch.

Daddy's little helper. Brian and his are still working on chopping the 8 trees that we had cut down last year. The log spliter they had was old and not the greatest and it ended up breaking. They bought a new one and this one is a beast and makes life so much easier. Now we just have to much wood and no where else to put it.

Austin also got to help.

This is my Halloween Elf. The birthday hat is her elf hat.

Saturday

Saturday mornings are back to soccer games for Anna. The first game was rough because we had the director of soccer as the coach at our only practice who didn't teach the kids anything about the game of soccer. He had them running around doing drills (which the coaches are not allowed to it) and using their hands. Nothing about kicking the ball and blocking and trying to make a goal. These are kindergarteners who this is their first year playing soccer.

By the end of the game the team was doing a lot better.

After soccer we came home and relaxed a little and I took a power nap on the couch.

Then we were off to our friends daughter's 3rd birthday. The kids played on the water slide, bounce house, pool, and sand box. It was a fun evening.

Sunday

It had been a few weeks since we had been to church. Anna was greatly missed with her dancing and making everyone smile.

It is football Sunday. We originally were hosting then we ended up at our neighbors who's house we were at the night before so the kids could play with all the water toys. The girls sunbathing.

and the boys being a mess with the sandbox.

After the game my parents came over to celebrate their birthdays. My mom turned 70 and my dad turned 69 this past week. We had grilled chicken, mash potatoes with gravy, green beans and cake.

Then it was shower and bedtime.

We had a fun weekend with friends and family.

  2. Man I remember those days of soccer - it's always a little chaotic at that age. I don't know if I liked those more than now, when my kids definitely know what they're doing so when they lose it hurts a bit more. Back then it seemed more fun! Enjoy it though because man it goes fast. (My two boys who played are now 14 and 17).

  4. It does sound like a great weekend you had! How fun to decorate for Halloween and so nice to find a time when the grocery store isn't busy and stocked. That is a good feeling! Have a good week!
