Title: Ranieri Andretti

Author: Parker Huntington

Genre: Romance Novella

How I Read It: Bookfunnel Audiobook

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Amazon Description: We were best friends, then we were enemies.

Loved. Protected. Cherished.
There was a time when Ranieri Andretti made me feel those things.
That was before his family came after mine.

He was supposed to forget me.
We went our separate ways.
It should have stayed like that.
But now he's back in my life, and he's my new boss.

I want to hate him.
He's my ex-best friend.
My tormentor.
The head of the Andretti family.
But no matter how hard I try...
I can't stay away.

My Review: I wish this book was longer. Second chance romance novella but felt very rushed. Would have been so much better if it was a full length book with all the details spread out.

Title: The 5am Club

Part manifesto for mastery, part playbook for genius-grade productivity and part companion for a life lived beautifully, The 5am Club is a work that will transform your life. Forever.

My Review: Boring characters, hard to follow story line. Not what I expected for a self help book to have a story instead of just advice.

Title: Bridgerton The Duke & I

Author: Julia Quinn

Genre: Historical Romance

How I Read It: Hoopla Audiobook

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: Can there be any greater challenge to London's Ambitious Mamas than an unmarried duke?—Lady Whistledown's Society Papers, April 1813

By all accounts, Simon Basset is on the verge of proposing to his best friend's sister—the lovely and almost-on-the-shelf—Daphne Bridgerton. But the two of them know the truth—it's all an elaborate ruse to keep Simon free from marriage-minded society mothers. And as for Daphne, surely she will attract some worthy suitors now that it seems a duke has declared her desirable.

But as Daphne waltzes across ballroom after ballroom with Simon, it's hard to remember that their courtship is a sham. Maybe it's his devilish smile, certainly it's the way his eyes seem to burn every time he looks at her . . . but somehow Daphne is falling for the dashing duke . . . for real! And now she must do the impossible and convince the handsome rogue that their clever little scheme deserves a slight alteration, and that nothing makes quite as much sense as falling in love.

My Review: I loved the Netflix series and enjoyed the book even more, isn't it always that way. There is a part of the book that is very controversial scene but I knew that coming into reading the book. I loved all the characters and there is even more that was left out of the tv series.

Title: Bridgerton The Viscount Who Loved Me

Author: Julia Quinn

Genre: Historical Romance

How I Read It: Hoopla Audiobook

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: ANTHONY’S STORY

This time the gossip columnists have it wrong. London’s most elusive bachelor Anthony Bridgerton hasn’t just decided to marry—he’s even chosen a wife! The only obstacle is his intended’s older sister, Kate Sheffield—the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom. The spirited schemer is driving Anthony mad with her determination to stop the betrothal, but when he closes his eyes at night, Kate’s the woman haunting his increasingly erotic dreams...

Contrary to popular belief, Kate is quite sure that reformed rakes do not make the best husbands—and Anthony Bridgerton is the most wicked rogue of them all. Kate’s determined to protect her sister—but she fears her own heart is vulnerable. And when Anthony’s lips touch hers, she’s suddenly afraid she might not be able to resist the reprehensible rake herself...

My Review: I loved the Netflix series but enjoyed the more depth and likable characters in the actually book. In the book Edwina was more poised and not dependent on her sister Kate for acceptance. Kate was outspoken. You really feel the chemistry and banter between Kate and Anthony without coming off childish.

Title: One Hot Night

Author: Kacey Shea

Genre: Romance Novella

How I Read It: Bookfunnel Audiobook

My Rating: 2 out of 5

Amazon Description: Fire captain Cameron McClain thinks I’m the meddlesome one, but he’s the instigator. His rugged good looks and confident sense of humor should be illegal. Not to mention his dimples.

They’re partially to blame for why I leave this party and follow him back to his room. I knew we had chemistry, but from the second his lips meet mine, my body catches on fire. All it takes is one touch and the attraction between us combusts into an undeniable heat.

One hot night. That’s all we were meant to be. But now that I know how good we are together, how can I stay away?

My Review: I didn't realize this was a prequel. I don't enjoy novella especially when you need to read the rest of the series to really connect with the characters. This book was short and steamy.

Title: Falling for the Movie Star

Author: Jean Oram

Genre: Romance

How I Read It: Spodify Audiobook

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Amazon Description: One picture. One tabloid. Two lives changed forever.

Nature photographer Hailey Summer is keeping secrets from her family—and not just about collaborating with her all-time biggest movie star crush who just stumbled into her sleepy Canadian town…

Finian Alexander is one scandalous tabloid photo away from catapulting his acting career onto the A-list. Luckily, he's found a woman, a camera, and an opportunity. Sure, Hailey seems a bit too sweet to set him up in the tabloids, but everyone has their price and, as it turns out, Hailey is about to lose her family’s beloved cottage in a tax sale and could use some quick cash.

Win-win, right?

My Review: Clean-ish romance, some sex talk. The story likable characters. Somewhat predicable storyline, with family drama, a Hollywood bad boy, and a photographer.

Title: Island Affair

Author: Priscilla Oliveras

Genre: Romance

How I Read It: Physical book from library

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Amazon Description: Sought-after social media influencer Sara Vance, in recovery from an eating disorder, is coming into her own, with a potential career expansion on the horizon. Despite the good news, her successful siblings (and their perfect spouses) have a way of making her feel like the odd one out. So, when her unreliable boyfriend is a no-show for a Florida family vacation, Sara recruits Luis Navarro—a firefighter paramedic and dive captain willing to play the part of her smitten fiancé . . .

Luis’s big Cuban
familia has been in Key West for generations, and his quiet strength feeds off the island’s laidback style. Though guarded after a deep betrayal, he’ll always help someone in need—especially a spunky beauty with a surprising knowledge of Spanish curse words. Soon, he and Sara have memorized their “how we met” story and are immersed in family dinners, bike tours, private snorkeling trips . . . sharing secrets, and slow, melting kisses. But when it’s time for Sara to return home, will their fake relationship fade like the stunning sunset . . . or blossom into something beautiful?

My Review: Entertaining story line. I wasn't a fan of the repetitive of the characters repeating themselves. Fake dating turned into relationship with family drama.

Title: Broken Pact

Author:  Penelope Black

Genre: Romantic Suspense

How I Read It:  Arc kindle book

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: Jasper Devereaux: The Reapers’ golden boy, my ex-boyfriend, and the first man to truly break my heart.

Oh, and now he’s my fake boyfriend.

He insists a fake relationship is the best solution to our problems. My persistent ex will back off, and his mom will stop trying to set him up on blind dates.

The rules are straightforward: act like we’re in love in public only, don’t let the lines blur, and whatever we do, don’t fall for each other.
Again. Every touch feels too real, every kiss reminds me of what we once had, and sticking to our rules becomes nearly impossible.

Our little charade is the hottest gossip in Avalon Falls, but as the sparks between us reignite, a chilling string of m*rders rocks our town, adding danger to the mix.

My Review: You can never go wrong with a Penelope Black book. Small town, second chance, fake dating with Spice Steam and Suspense. The chemistry between Jasper and Coraline is off the the scales. I love that you can read this one as a standalone.

Title: The Reality of It All

Author: Allison Speka

Genre:  Romance

How I Read It: Kindle

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazon Description: It's a reality dating show with one big catch...

...everyone has been tricked into being there.

Rising author Calla is struggling to move on after a tragic event completely destroyed her world. Her sister, desperate to help, convinces her to sign up for a reality TV show, The Next Great American Classic.

But upon arrival, Calla's expectations are upended. The show isn’t about writing at all—it’s about finding love. How is she supposed to get through this when she still can’t sleep at night after what happened?

And then there’s Eli, a washed-up actor with a notoriously bad reputation. His charm is undeniable, and although Calla senses trouble, she can’t help but let her guard down each time he opens up or flashes one of his dimpled smiles.

Unfortunately for Calla, Eli might just be the perfect candidate to break her already fragile heart.

My Review: A fun reality show read with romance and adventure mixed in.
