Hey loves. How was your weekend? I was productive, some relaxing, and time with friends and lots of family. I am slacking on taking pictures though. I will say I am have been present in the moment instead.
I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.
Friday
Down syndrome awareness day calls for mismatched bright colored socks. These are Ella's feet. Anna also participated. I love that our schools bring awareness and celebrate so many things.
Anna came home with these drawings of everyone in our family and their eye color. I was shocked that she knew everyone's eye colors. Yes all 3 kids have different eye colors.
Ella had a Girl Scout event. It is called World Friendship Fair. Each troop learned about a different country, does a skit, makes a craft etc. Ella's troop had Scotland whose flag is blue and white. She went with blue streaks in her hair, blue and white lips, and the blue dress with my white belt. (love the teenager look for the picture)
While Ella was at Girl Scouts we had a game night with Brian's family.
Ella had her event. I love that she had a true smile.
Ella was in my room talking about something. Then she saw Anna had put sticker light sabers on my wall. Ella then starts talking a million miles a minutes about different Star Wars things we have experiences at Disney World, she even grabbed an encyclopedia of Star Wars to show me what characters she was talking about. Then she went downstairs and talked a mile a minute hyperly to Brian, his brother, and our neighbor who were all watching the Cavs game. I think she is excited for Disney this summer. (I am also happy she has been in a good mood.)
Saturday
I slept in a little until 730 and we had a slow start to our morning. Brian had to coach baseball evaluations from 9 to 11.
These two had some tablet time as the older one still slept. I vacuumed and cleaned up the house. Oh and folded all the laundry I washed the day before.
Austin had his baseball evaluations at 11. I took him up to the high school for that then came home and got some real estate work done while Anna played with little people and the floor is lava.
Brian had a few showings. When he got home Ella and I ran to Walmart for a few things we needed for Sunday and a birthday gift for my niece.
We ended up over our neighbors for dinner. He made two delicious smoked young chickens, risotto, and roasted veggies.
We watched Wicked. Well at least attempted with numerous interruptions and dance parties and gymnastics going on. I am really enjoyed the movie even though I am not a fan of the cast. (that's a whole nother story)
Anna had been watching the movie on and off with us. When it was over and we went upstairs to get ready to leave, she was fast asleep.
Sunday
Getting ready for church Anna requested a braid. At the 9am service she was the only young kid, there was also Austin and a girl in his grade. A few more kids showed up at 10am for Sunday School. A lot of the schools in the area are on Spring break. (ours is not until Easter)
We got home from church and I took a wonderful Sunday nap on the couch. I wake up to this set up of little people all over the living room. Anna made it for the party.
My parents sister and niece came over for us to celebrate my niece's birthday. When they got there Anna cleaned up the little people then decided she wanted to play more of the floor is lava. That has been her game this weekend.
I made homemade Alfredo and Brian grilled chicken for dinner. I also made red sauce because my mom doesn't eat white sauce. Everyone else had regular penne pasta, I had red lentil protein pasta.
Happy Birthday Claudia. She was actually in a good mood and smiling.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
Sounds like a fabulous weekend and it is so good to see our kids laughing and smiling! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy fun weekend! I haven't watched Wicked either. I loved the Broadway show and have seen it twice, once with the originals which would be hard to top. I don't love the casting either, which is maybe what's kept me from watching the movie. Smiling kids are a great thing...enjoy your week!
