Hello Monday on a Tuesday Long Weekend Edition

Hey friends. Happy Tuesday. How was your weekend? We had a long 4 day weekend. Pros and cons after Halloween, but boy am I happy they are back to school today. It is a lot quieter and calmer in my house today. I thrive on routine and schedules.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Thursday

Last minute Halloween costume. Ella was Taylor Swift last year. This year she was with her dad for Halloween and the school didn't announce they could wear costumes until the night before Halloween.

Anna must have been excited for Halloween and her party at school she was up at 615. Austin was also up by 620. After they ate they found light sabers and played throughout the house.

Last morning with my Hocus Pocus mug with pumpkin spice for the season.

Anna was a mermaid for Halloween at school.

We hosted dinner of pizza and McDonalds chicken nuggets for 3 families. We all got ready for Trick or Treating together then hit the streets together. We had a fun night and they got a lot of candy. It was also the perfect night for trick or treating. Temps in the upper 60s, dry, but windy. Not our normal rainy snowy weather for the end of October.

Friday

November 1st calls for peppermint coffee

My kids had off school so we had a slow start to the morning. Ella was at her dads and instead of picking her up at the normal 6am, we agreed to 930, that really turned into 945 because I lost track of time. I also had to make a little detour to go take Brian his coat. He was working outside at our church and didn't listen when I said it was in the 40s outside.
After picking up Ella we headed to Target to get a birthday gift for a friend and I let the kids look at toys for ideas of what they would like to put on their Christmas list this year. Then we did grocery pick-up.

I may not be decorating for Christmas yet, but I did pull our all the Christmas headbands, clothes, and cups.

Ella is going to the Livingston concert later this week with her dad. She is making her own shirt using 3d printed letters. (it would have been so much easier and quicker, and lighter to use my cricut )

Afternoon workout done on my bike. 5 for 5 last week of getting rides in.

The rest of the evening we spent at a friends birthday party. We called it early around 8 after crabby kids whining and came home to an early bedtime.

Saturday

The kids were up early again. So Brian and I got up. It was another cold morning and the kids and I had no real plans. Austin decided he wanted to have a fire so he went to the garage and grabbed wood.

Obviously Brian helped Austin make a fire, really Austin just got the wood while Brian built the fire. Anna and I curled up on the couch and read a book.

A perfect slow morning by the fire with hot peppermint coffee.

The kids played while I got to read a book.

Brian went to our church to work for a little while. When he got home we all went to Sam's Club to get Austin's new glasses and do some shopping. While at it the kids also got ideas for Christmas gifts. (Austin is now into Pokemon cards)

Then we went home. Brian, Austin and Anna ended up at our neighbors house watching the Ohio State foodball game. Ella and I did a little shopping then I went to the neighbors also.

After the game Brian came home and did yardwork while I read and fell asleep for a little bit on the couch. Brian had started a fire to burn wood that wasn't good to use inside (bugs, mold, etc). I ended up spending much of the evening by myself enjoying the fire while Brian played Xbox with Austin.

Sunday

Sunday morning church. During the service we sit in the back at the table to entertain the kids, this is were most families with little kids sit. My kids usually color in the notebooks or play tic tac toe on the digital tablet.

Anna didn't dance at church this week. I made the mistake of saying be careful of all the candles. It was all Saints week and everyone lit a candle and placed in in the sand for a loved one. Next time I won't say anything.

After church Austin worked on some of a homework project. The assignment has to do with having a store and making something to sell. We weren't allowed to go out and buy anything from the store, it could just be paper and colored on etc. He picked making paper airplanes. We went on youtube found a really easy tutorial and made a bunch of paper airplanes with paper that I have in the basement in a box. (some of these random sheets of paper are from when I did science fair in 7th grade like 30 years ago)

Ella did some game that she made up with Anna and Austin.

We watched the Browns game at our neighbors house. The these was Asian night. We had chicken, shrimp and steak on the blackstone with veggies, ramen, potstickers, egg rolls, sushi, and more.

I love the relationship and talks these 3 girls have. They are 5, 4 and 3.

We had a new wine from Trader Joes that was pretty good.

Monday

No school lazy days. I cleaned up Halloween, finished random laundry, made banana oatmeal cookies because we have way to many bananas going bad and a lot in the freezer too.

I took Austin back to Sam's club because the glasses he picked up on Saturday were the wrong frame. I have no idea how this happened I didn't go. Brian did say he thought they were wrong but we didn't have the receipt, they were busy, and he didnt want to confront them. When we got home the receipt only had a squ number and it wasn't searchable. When I went up there the lady wasn't surprised that this mistake happened and put in a new order no problem.

Anna randomly did a puzzle again. They played outside some, built a ford, and read together.

We ended out weekend with much needed showers, bedtime stories, and early bedtimes.

  1. I love how you started your peppermint coffee already-that's the spirit! Even though you haven't decorated yet, have you started Hallmark movies? I haven't decorated yet but did start the movies-guilty pleasure :)
