What's Up Wednesday October 2025

Hey loves. Happy What's Up Wednesday. How is it already the last Wednesday of the October. Like always I am in denial, this year is flying by. Halloween is two days away with a packed weekend.

It's that time for What's Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.

On the last week of October here's what's up...

~ WHAT I AM EATING THIS WEEK ~

Monday- Crockpot BBQ Cider Chicken over smash fries

Tuesday- Jack-o-lantern

Wednesday- Mummy Dogs

Thursday- Leftovers

Friday- Ordering Pizza for before Trick or Treating and Ella's Halloween birthday party

~ WHAT I AM REMINISCING ABOUT ~

A punch of past Halloweens. They were so cute and little.

~ WHAT I AM LOVING ~

Anna is back in the habit of stealing my phone and taking selfies.

These are a few weeks apart but all they all look about the same.

Brian's sister gave us seeds from her marigolds last summer. Her's were huge from just one seed. We planted our late in the year but they are still blooming and big. The deer are only eating one of them and it is a different color, even though they all came from the same seeds.

Morning sibling cuddles. Some days they love each other and get along other days they argue from the moment they wake up until they go to sleep.

I am loving having fresh flowers in our main floor half bath. It just brings an extra level of warm and welcoming feeling.

~ WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO ~

Anna had spirit week and is all for it. We had colored hair, spiders, PJs, and more.

I officially have a 14 year old.

I am very fortunate to be able to volunteer at my kids events.

Being a part of the PTA board has its advantages, while also helping out the school and student.s

One of Ella's birthday gifts was to go see the Taylor Swift The Life of a Showgirl in the theatre. We didn't know what to expect and Anna is also a huge Taylor fan. It ended up being a fun evening.

There has been lots of soccer. We ended our season better than last year. Anna had fun, learned a lot, and wasn't don't yoga on the field.

Brian added a TV to our back patio (that comes inside when not in use). We have had a few fires and football evenings.

Austin participated in a 4 week basketball camp at a local hoop tech. Brian has been the one taking him but he has had a good time. Hopefully he learned some.

My kids had a random Friday off. It was gorgeous weather and we took advantage of it by going to a pumpkin patch.

Last month we bought a camper, this month we went camping for the first time in my parents driveway just to test it out.

I swear Ella has had different spirit weeks all month for different things. She loves any reason to change it up. Here she is wearing Brian's old football jersey for one of her many Demons day.

This is officially mommy's hair salon, aka where I wash the kids hair when I need to either scrub their scalp, apply oils, wash out hair color, treat lice, etc. It is the easiest way I have found to wash their hair and not having to bend over the tub.

~ WHAT I AM DREADING ~

The cold weather. I am all for the snow but not freezing temps. Yes I know you can't have one without the other.

~ WHAT I AM WORKING ON ~

Starting to plan the holidays

~ WHAT I AM EXCITED ABOUT ~

The holidays from Halloween, to Thanksgiving and especially Christmas and everything the comes along with that.

~ WHAT I AM WATCHING ~

I have done a lot of watching tv this month. We bought a new TV for our room and I can watch Netflix again. (our last tv either the TV was to old or the fire stick was going and it kept freezing) I finished watching My Life with the Walton Boys, Sirens, Love is Blind, some of Dancing with the Stars and the start of Hallmark Christmas movies.

~ WHAT I AM READING ~

My current reads, an ARC, a purchase, and a borrow.

~ WHAT I AM LISTENING TO ~

~ FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASE THIS MONTH ~

Standing desk, fits perfectly over my walking pad. It is also adjustable and light weight. I love it in the other room when I am not using it. I have been lazy when I get off work and just become a potato on the couch. I am motivating myself to get blog work, and my real estate job done (and not rushing at the last minute) while also moving my body. I know with the days getting darker earlier I am going to want to go to bed earlier and trying to avoid that.

~ WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEKEND ~

We have a busy weekend with trick or treating, Ella's sleepover birthday party. Austin has a martial arts birthday party, church with a pancake breakfast, Ella has fencing, a birthday party for a friend and my kids have off Friday and Monday.

  1. BBQ cider chicken sounds delicious! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. We used to wash heads in the kitchen sink too; so much easier than using the tub.
