Hello Monday on a Thursday 2.9.2026

Hey loves. It was a busy weekend and has already started the week off rough. Monday night Anna woke up crying with her ear bothering her. It was a rough sleepless night. I took her to the doctor Tuesday morning and she has an ear infection. It was a crazy day of cuddles and a sitter because I had to go into the office for a meeting. This month already seems to be flying by, hello it is Thursday and I meant to share this on Monday and Tuesday.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend and a little beyond.

Thursday

Ella was in her school drama production of A Wrinkle in Time. Thursday night was photo rehearsal night.

Ella was part of the ensemble and her best friend was one of the leads.

I had never seen the movie or read the book so it was a very interesting and unique play.

Friday

Friday morning started off with rain that started freezing, then snow. It started as the kids were on their way to school. Thankfully all the kids made it to school safely. The local high way by us ended up closing for a little bit due to accidents. I had grocery shopping to do, but ended up waiting a few hours. When I went the roads were fine but the parking lots were a mess.

After school it was another show night. This time Brian, Anna and Austin went with us. Anna loved the play, and Austin was bored. There was a big improvement between the two nights.

Saturday

A slow start to our Saturday. Catching up on folding laundry and some cleaning around the house.

Anna had her basketball game at 1115. It was their first official game, compared to half practice then a scrimmage. The girls did pretty good, the other team was a lot more aggressive and had older players.

Between games we ran to my office to print a few things out for Sunday service that weren't ready when I left work on Thursday. Then headed back up for Austin's game at 1.

Austin's team showed up this week. They had a talk about being faster, and working on their defense. The boys listened and lead the game the whole time.

After games it was home to rest and do some more cleaning around the house. Brian and the little ended up across the street hanging out with the neighbors while I went to Ella's drama show again. After her show a bunch of the kids, including Ella, went to get ice cream. I ended up driving one of her friends too.

Sunday

Anna and the girls are ready for First Communion. Two are second grade, and two are in first. Lutheran churches do communion when you believe your child is ready or when they start asking.

Anna's two best friends also did First Communion with her. No Kristen and I did not plan to match. The joke is we are best friends and dress alike but can't spell each other's last names.

Anna is now so excited to be able to eat the bread, yes she understands there is more to that too.

My parents came to Anna's First Communion and also came out to watch Ella's last show. I watched all 4 shows and they did amazing. The leads did amazing with having to improv when someone forgot lines (which happened a lot with one character) It was a sad ending. Ella's last drama show. They did offer drama club in high school but it is harder to get into.

After the show it was home to relax. Anna requested to watch the Olympics.

We have progressed to toes to nose, it was just toes to eyebrows.

And working on our splits.

I didn't know Ella could do the splits so well, on one side.

We hosted the Super Bowl with special guest Britney Spears. I kept seeing her out of the corner of my eye and thought someone was in the kitchen.

It was a long night. Our friends and their kids didn't end up leaving until close to 11. It was past my kids bedtimes and it shows they were tired the next day.
