Disney World- Day 2

Good Morning. Who is ready to hear about Day 2 of our adults only Disney vacation? I hope you are because I am excited to share our wonderful experience.
If you missed my discussion about why we went on an adults only vacation to Disney World you can read about it HERE
Day 1 you can read about HERE

Day 2, our first full day at Disney and Magic Kingdom. We woke up, got dressed and headed to the bus stop to hop on the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Speaking of the bus it was crazy packed. Brian and I both ended up standing and not everyone waiting fit on the bus.

Magic Kingdom had extra magic hours first thing in the morning from 8-9, with park hours officially opening at 9. Extra magic hours are a perk of staying at a Disney World hotel you get early or late access to a different park each day (Disney determines which park which day and what times). This was our first time ever experiencing extra magic hours and will be planning on doing these again so worth it. We got to the park before 8 and headed straight down Main Street and stopped at Main Street Bakery (aka Starbucks) to get some much needed coffee.

We walked around for a few minutes and saw the wait time for Seven Dwards Mine Train ride. It was already at 30 minutes so we opted to get breakfast since we hadn't eaten yet, and we had a fast pass for Mine Train later in the day anyways.

Brian had researched some food ideas before we even left on vacation. He wanted a Warm Cinnamon Roll from Gaston's Tavern. Brian is a big cinnamon roll fan, me I could take it or leave it.

We ended up being the only ones at Gaston's Tavern. What better time to sit in Gaston's chair. The warm, delicious, sweet, and sticky just like you would expect from a cinnamon roll. It was really big so we ended up sharing one. It hit the spot.

After breakfast we headed over to Fantasyland. First ride of the morning Dumbo. Who doesn't love Dumbo? Then we road Barnstormer (which I keep calling brainstormer opps).

Next up was Mad Tea Party. Brian was less than thrilled. He isn't a fan on spinning around fast, but then he is the one to make it spin. We tried to ride Space Mountain next but it was closed with no idea when it was going to reopen. (We actually never got to ride it)

Time for my bragging moment. We rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I am not a huge fan of this ride, I prefer Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. But somehow I ended up winning.

A Disney trip wouldn't be complete without a selfie in front of the castle.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Snack break- Orange Cream Cup from Sunshine Tree Terrace. Swirl of Dole Orange Soft Serve and Vanilla Soft Serve Ice Cream. Another one of Brian's preplanned food ideas.

Drink Break - Back to Gaston's Tavern to get a LeFou's Brew. Surprisingly it was really good. It is frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow and topped with passion fruit-mango foam. Again another one of Brian's food ideas.

The last ride we rode that day Magic Kingdom was our fast pass for Seven Dwarf's Mine Train. This is a run thrill ride with awesome Snow White themeing.

Other attractions we did while at Magic Kingdom before heading back to our hotel to get ready for dinner were:
- Under the Sea- Journey of The Little Mermaid
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Jungle Cruise
- Big Thunder Mountain (Fast Pass)
- Peter Pan's Flight (Fast Pass)
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover
- Tom Sawyer Island
- Swiss Family Treehouse

For lunch this day I had Columbia Harbour House. I ordered my food online and it was ready within a few minutes. It was great not having to stand in line to order than wait on food. We ordered while Brian was picking up his food from another restaurant. I must have been sick or taken over by alien's I didn't take pictures of our lunch. I ordered The Lobster roll with homemade potato chips.
Brian ordered from Sleepy Hollow. He got a Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich. It was also really good.

We took the bus back to our hotel. It was pretty crowded again which we didn't expect since it was the middle of the day.

It was time for a wardrobe change to get ready for our special dinner at a signature restaurant. For me that meant putting on a cute dress (from Old Navy last year) and wearing my new Grand and Miraculous headband from Mickey and Mandy.

We had a little time to spare before our dinner reservations at Le Cellier. There is always so much to see and explore at Epcot. I will do a full review on our favorite restaurant Le Cellier soon.

After dinner we did some more walking around and trying some drinks from around the world. This time I remember to bring my new drink cozie that I got from Mickey and Mandy. It was great to have to keep my hand warm while holding a cold drink.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends. I like that it is a nice relaxing ride, there is never a wait, and you end in the Coral Reefs Aquarium.

We ended the night checking out Space Mountain with the night lights, hearing marching bands, drinking and eating around the world (only a little), and watching Illuminations. This was my least favorite night time entertainment. It was our first time watching it. I would be sad if we dont watch it again or if they replace it with something else.

Other attractions:
- Grand Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
- Soarin (we got a Fast Pass)

Check back tomorrow for day 3 that includes Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Magic Kingdom and a family surprise.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday. The weekend is finally here. To say I need a break is an understatement. This past week for whatever reasons my kids are been hyper and not listening. I need a girls night. Who wants to hang out?

Linking up for some Friday Favorites with these three lovely ladies: ErikaNarci, and Andrea. I am sharing some random favorites from the past week with an abundance of Austin being cute. (to bad you cant see him attitude and temper tantrums)

~ ONE ~

Someone wanted to be just like his big sister. While she was putting on her pads he came over and put her roller skates on and said "Let's Go".

She is ready to roll. She may not "skate" but she does walk very well in them.

~ TWO ~

He is on a mission. Big boy with helmet on and ready to ride.

~ THREE ~

Garbage day is the most exciting day of the week for this little man.

~ FOUR ~

I became that mom who grabbed the multi-kid card from Target. This avoided a temper tantrum, I got my shopping done, and he was good. (There were a bunch of other multi kids cards still available and it was 9am on a weekday)

~ FIVE ~

Why are all the cool carts always that hardest to steer and the ones that kids want.

~ SIX ~

Big sister wanting to push her brother to school on the only really nice day we had this week.

~ SEVEN ~

Playground fun while Aubriella is inside doing gymnastics and Austin doesn't want to sit and watch.

~ EIGHT ~

Just being cute laying in bed with Tigger and Pooh.

Hope you had a great week and a fabulous weekend

Disney World Day 1

The Thursday after my daughter's Spring Break, Brian and I hoped on a plane and headed to the most magical place on earth DISNEY WORLD. We left our kids at home with loving family and went off to have some quality, fun, and adventured filled alone time. I discussed the other day why we went on a Adults Only vacation to Disney World. You can check it out HERE!!

We packed out bags and were ready to go first thing in the morning. We had planned a short 4 day mini vacation and since it was just us we traveled pretty light. We both had our a carry on book bag, I had my purse, and Brian had a rolling carry on. We also checked on piece of luggage just in case we decided to come home with a bunch of souvenirs. (which we did not)

On the way down to Florida we flew United. This was my first time flying United. I was surprised to see that every seat had a TV available. While we are sitting there for take off they spoil you by letting you watch all these channels. Then they let you know that if you want in flight TV it will cost you. We opted out of not purchasing. It was a two hour direct flight and we were prepared with books/kindle and I enjoy looking out the window.

Once we arrived at the Orlando airport we went straight down to catch the Magical Express. I love not having to worry about finding a rental car or taxi, or driving in an unknown city. If you stay at an on-property Disney World hotel the transportation is included. You step off the plane and you are already feeling the Disney experience as you get to use your magic band as your bus pass.

Our bus had to make one other stop before taking us to our hotel. We stayed at Disney Beach Club Resort. (I will do another post on the specifics of our resort in the next few weeks). Once we arrived and we were standing in the lobby Brian got the text saying our room was ready. We had previously checked in online and were able to head straight to our room. No need to stand in the long line at the front desk. Brian and I explored the hotel until we found our gorgeous room.

We didn't stay long in our room. We were hungry it was already lunch time so we dropped off our bags, changed our clothes then headed over to Epcot to eat and drink around the world with the Flower and Garden festival. (more on the festival later)

We actually got to the hotel and over to Epcot sooner than we anticipated. Our first fast pass wasn't scheduled until after 5pm over at Hollywood Studios. We had time to spare so we decided to go stand in line for Soarin' since we didn't have a fast pass scheduled for it our all whole trip. It was a 40 minute wait but went by very quickly. Soarin' has to be one of my favorite rides. Disney describes it as "Take flight on a breezy, airborne adventure as you hang glide above some of the most breathtaking wonders the world has to offer." That doesn't give it much justice. It is an breathtaking hang glider ride that takes you from Alaska, to Paris to China, to Australia and so much more. Not only do you get the sights but you feel the breeze and smell the scents of each location also. It is really magically the projection put you there.

Next we walked from Epcot to our hotel to switch shoes. Then walked over to Hollywood Studios. We got there with plenty of time to spare before our first fast pass. While we were waiting we saw the Star Wars show with the Storm Troopers. I have to admit I am not a Star Wars fan. I haven't seen the movies and this was all a blur to me and makes no sense. Goal before Star Wars Land opens is to watch all the movies.

Our first thrill coaster of our trip was Rock'n Roller Coaster. The first time I rode this I was scared to death. I am from Ohio, the roller coaster capital of the world with Cedar Point we have real roller coasters. Rock'n Roller Coaster is nothing compared to Cedar Point but still a lot of fun.

Another Star Wars show with people I don't know who they are. Ok I admit I know who Chewbacca is and I recognize Kylo Ren since Austin has his coat. Beyond that I am pretty clueless. Brian however enjoyed everything Star Wars. Coincidentally our next ride was Star Tours.

We had time to spare before our last fast pass so decided to find something for dinner. This was the only meal we didn't have a plan and decided to wing it. Wrong move at Hollywood Studios. We agreed we didn't want your typical hamburger, hot dog, chicken fingers kind of meal. We also didn't want sit down just a quick service. After walking back and forth through the park a few times trying to find some place we decided on a bar that had salads. Unfortunately it was almost 7pm and they were closing, just our luck. We ended up sharing an Emanadas Platter from Fairfax Fare that was delicious. (I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture)

After eating and some window shopping it was finally time for our final fast pass of the day. Tower of Terror. This is not my favorite ride, but it is Ella's favorite ride when we took her for 5th birthday. We rode it three times.

After the ride we rushed to find a somewhat good seat to watch Fantasmic!!! This was our first time seeing it. OMG I loved it. This has to be my second favorite nighttime show. (first being at Magic Kingdom) It has princesses, a storyline, Mickey, water effects, boats, fireworks, and more. It is a must see.
After Fantasmic! we made our way to find a spot to watch the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular night time projection show with fireworks. Not my favorite, but still fun to watch. The Star Wars show started at 9:15 even though the park "closes" at 9. After the show most people are rushing to catch a bus, boat, or back to their car. We luckily only had to walk back to our hotel. Our other option would have been a boat. We watched the boat line and payed attention to when it left. We got back to our hotel (even with stopping to eat) before the boat did.

Speaking of food, on our walk from Hollywood Studios to Beach Club Resort you go through the Boardwalk. On the Boardwalk there was a pizza place and a few drinking spots. We grabbed a slice of pizza to share.

I got a frozen Pina Colada to drink. It was nothing special and you didn't really taste the alcohol in it but it was still delicious.

Brian got a beer

Our first day was great. Perfect weather, some rides, lots of fun, food and beer. A great start to our vacation. Day 2 coming soon with Magic Kingdom and more Epcot.

What I'm Reminiscing About...

Two weeks ago Brian and I went on our Adults Only vacation to Disney World. I discussed the controversial topic yesterday you can read about it HERE. We had so much fun and are planning our next trip with our kids.

What I Am Loving...

Lots of family time and fun

What We've Been Up To...

We finally got some warmer weather this past weekend and spent most of it outside. I am happily surprised Austin didn't fight to wear his helmet this year. A good sign he is growing up.

Aubriella's attire makes you think it was in the 80's or 90's but it really was only in the 70s but felt wonderful

We even walked to and from school one day. Ella pushed Austin some of the way too. I can't wait until the weather stays so I can get unintentional 2 miles in each day.

What I'm Working On...

Getting back to some sort of cleaning schedule. I put it off before vacation then haven't gotten the spark back to get into it.

What I'm Excited About ...

Warm Weather and SUMMER

What I am Dreading...

nothing at the moment

What I'm Watching...

Still watching Vampire Diaries on Netflix. I have 2 seasons left. Then I think I am going to watch Gilmore Girls.

What I Am Reading...

I loved Talking As Fast As You Can by Lauren Graham. It is a quick read about Lauren's career with lots of details from Gilmore Girls.
I will have a full book review from this month in the next few weeks. You can check out last months book review HERE.

What Am I Listening Too..

Every morning while the kids are starting to wake up and Ella is getting ready for school, instead of having cartoons on for the kids I turn on Pandora Disney Princess music. Since starting this a few weeks ago our morning have been running soother.

do it scared podcast

I am so excited for this new podcast. It doesn't launch until next week but I got a sneak peak. Do It Scared! with Ruth Soukup is honestly my new favorite podcast. I love how honest and real she is and really makes you think about your life differently. You should go check her out. Subscribe to her podcast HERE

What I Am Doing This Weekend....

Nothing fun, Ella will be with her dad. I am going to decorate Ella's room. I finally got everything I ordered from the Wish app.

What I Am Looking Forward To Next Month...

May is going to be so much fun.
- I am co-chair for an Ice Cream Social being put on by the PTA. I can't wait to see it all come together.
- A few other fun events at the school.
