Weekend Wrap Up

How is it Monday already? This weekend went by way to quick. I have been fighting a cold for the past few days, which sucks especially being pregnant and limited on what medicine I am allowed to take.  I am ready for warmer weather, to get outside, and get all these germs gone.

Friday we had our anatomy scan of our little bundle of joy. The morning started off rough with my hyperemesis gravidarum making me sick again. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to keep down the fluids they needed for the ultrasound. Thankfully everything worked out in our favor.  Our baby is looking healthy and normal. I am currently 19 weeks.

The rest of Friday was pretty low key. I did some running around and Brian went back to work. Austin and I got Ella from school, then came home and they started playing. I finished laundry. Brian eventually came home and we had pizza for dinner and a chill night.

Saturday I woke up very blah. I didn't sleep well, was up half the night tossing and turning. Luckily we didn't really have anything planned for the day. I got up before 7. Not even after being up for 10 minutes Ella woke up and told me she wanted to take a shower. She is being such a big girl.

Brian treated us to a donut and Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. We only got the donut because he hadn't put in our order for paczki's yet and had to do it before it was too late.

Brian ended up cleaning most of the house. I washed bed sheets, prepared for tonight's Girl Scout meeting, and started organizing the office again. Ella and I did a little running around before returning home to make dinner and just relax.

Sunday both kids got up before Brian and I got out of bed. This was around 7am again. Ella has learned how to turn on the tv and find the Disney channel or Nick Jr. They are growing up to fast and so loving to each other most times.

Brian made our traditional Sunday breakfast of bacon and pancakes. After breakfast I made a weekly dinner menu and grocery list. Ella helped as well. She grabbed one of her cookbooks and made a list of recipes that she wanted to make. Then made sure I added the needed ingredients to our list. She even went grocery shopping with me.

For dinner from her cookbook she made bow tie mac and cheese with frozen peas. (She also ate two bowls of it). We also had asparagus that we needed to use up and steak.

Brian took bed time story reading Saturday and Sunday night. On Saturday was Dr. Suess's birthday so Ella was on a Dr. Suess kick. Saturday I think she sucked him into reading 4 books, Sunday was only two because it was getting past her bedtime on a school night. I couldn't ask for a better father to share this incredible journey with.

Hope you had a great weekend. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to those effected by the tornadoes yesterday in Georgia and Alabama.

  2. I hated having to drink so much fluid for the ultrasound appointments; and I wasn't even feeling that sickly. Glad it all worked out OK. I love it that your daughter is so helpful in the kitchen!
