Hey friends. Summer has officially come to an end. We had a great summer and I am sad that all three of my kids are in school all day. The realty that I no longer have any kids at home.
Aubriella is in 7th grade now. She has to get up and out the door before the sun rises and before the other two even half to wake up. She is officially in middle school. Our schools are weird pre-k through 4 is elementary school, 5-6 intermediate, 7-8 is middle, and 8-12 is high school.
Austin is in 3rd grade and at the same school as last year. I have hope that Austin will succeed and thrive this school year. He has had struggles with his speech and reading but I am seeing growth and have been encouraged to be more of an advocate and found out more options that is available for him.
Audrianna is in Kindergarten. Yesterday we had an hour orientation at her school where we dropped off her supplies and met her teachers. She has two teachers, one teaches Monday and Tuesday, the other teaches Thursday and Friday and they swap every other Wednesday. Today is her first real day of school, then she has off tomorrow. The split Kindergarten in half for two days to get them a little adjusted and not as overwhelming.
Anna is so excited to ride the bus with her brother and go to school all day.
It is so weird and quiet not having any kids at home. On one hand I am like I can get all xyz done that I wouldn't get with kids always interrupting. The day flew by also. There has been talk of me finding a part time job working from 9 to 2 during the week while the kids are in school, so we will see. It sounds great but maybe a lot harder than we want too.
On Tuesday we had our Back to School Brinner. (breakfast for dinner). There will be no more family breakfasts with all the kids on school days. Ella goes to her dad's tonight so we wanted to include her in the special dinner that everyone loves. Austin acted like this was the first time we have ever had breakfast for dinner, which it is not. All 3 kids ate more than what they normally eat for dinner so we maybe doing this more often.
