Hey friends. How was your weekend? I am ready for a full week of the kids in school and to knock a lot of items off my to do list, at least that is the plan. I had the excuse that nothing got done because the kids were home, no more excuses.

- My alarm goes off at 5am and I get dressed and put my contacts in and head downstairs. I mix up my pre-workout (not pre-workout pictured, that is an electrolyte drink) and head into the office for what I call my mindset morning. Some mornings I light a candle, just depends on my mood. I usually get my candles from Kirklands. My favorite scents are Coconut Smoothie and Pumpkin Pie.
- Bible I listen to the bible verses on the Bible app and follow along in my physical bible
- Bible recap using the the Bible app video
- Gratitude Journal
- Question A Day
- Affirmation card I pick a random affirmation and write it in my journal
- Journal, daily writing challenge from Memories by Meyers, my thoughts, prayers, etc.
- Devotionals
- I wake Ella up for school at 530, then I head downstairs to get a workout in. My workouts are usually between 20 and 40 minutes. I am do my workouts using Bodi and my MYX bike. I just finished Bodi Lava and I am now doing 9 Week Control Freak mixed with some rides.
- No Tv or electronics in the morning for my kids. This has helped so much with the fighting to get them to eat breakfast, get dressed, and out the door. Some mornings we just play Disney music, Disney piano or Disney jazz on our Alexa. Other mornings we turn on the TV and play ambiance music on Youtube. This particular day was Disney fall ambiance, other days are fish tanks or the beach.
- Weather permitting the kids and I go outside early and wait for the bus. We will move Brian's truck so Austin can play basketball, Anna will chalk and I will sit outside and enjoy my coffee. This ranges from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
- After the kids leave I do a morning reset.
- dishes
- straighten up living room (fold blankets, pick up toys/pillows)
- open blinds / curtains
- turn off lights
- feed fish
- make beds
- Get all my work done before 3pm. When my kids are home I can focus on them.
- Have dinner as a family
- Evening Routine
- fill diffusers and humidifiers (back to school colds have already started)
- help kids put on pajamas
- bedtime stories
- put the kids to bed
- wash my face
- nightly stretching
- drink fiber and mela-out (both from my wellness box and help me sleep)
- nightly devotional
- read until 930ish
Your kids have to get out the door EARLY. I'm barely awake myself at 5:30. But in reading everyone's blogs, I realized that I forgot to mention that I get up earlier than the rest of my family for an hour or so of quiet. That's so important.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest does leave for school before 7, and that is no for special extra curriculars. Way to early.
DeleteSounds like you have all developed a good flow to your days!
ReplyDeleteIt has taken a while to get to this flow.
DeleteThose are great routines. I haven't been in a Kirkland in so long, but is used to be my go to place. Have a good Monday & thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI only go to Kirklands when they have their candle sales I feel like. There is so much there I would love to buy but with little kids things broken to often.
DeleteHaving routines is so helpful!
ReplyDeleteIt really makes a big difference
DeleteI love the idea of putting on ambiance videos with music. We don't have any screen time in the mornings either, but if we put that on, they may be tricked into thinking they are getting to watch TV, haha! Will have to try that.
ReplyDeleteOh yes it is a trick per say and isn't over stimulating and they dont have to finish watching before they do xyz.
DeleteIt is easier to find peace in your day when the kids are at school. I used to love those few hours alone when my girls were younger.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your morning routine. They sound so relaxed and it's great that you find time for yourself.
The time they are at school goes by so quick.
DeleteI enjoyed the theme this month and reading yours and everyones answers. I love my morning coffee too!
ReplyDeleteI don’t enjoy getting up early, but it is a peaceful time of day. Playing ambient music is such a great idea, I never thought to do that in the mornings. I’ll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteLove your morning routine. So peaceful and productive.
