Hey loves. Happy Monday. How was your weekend? Happy Belated Mother's Day. We hosted a lunch for our family and friends. I will be sharing about it tomorrow for Hello Monday on a Tuesday. Today we are sharing our lives.

This month we are sharing our How I Spend My Birthday!
In full honesty my birthday isn't that big of a deal. Yes I want to be celebrated but I don't make a big deal out of it. Yes I want to go to Starbucks and get my free triventi drink (the largest size they have). Yes we usually do cake and dinner. No we are not inviting everyone over to celebrate or have a party. Yes I would love to make a date night out of it, or even take my kids with us out to dinner which doesn't happen very often.
Last year Brian took a red eye home from a work trip on my birthday and our friends brought over dinner and cake so I didn't have to cook. The year before that my father in laws burial was that day. With Brian's family we usually get together for birthdays except mine because it is in the summer and my kids birthdays are two weeks later, July 4th is the following week, and life is just busy.
I also grew up ALWAYS sharing my birthday with my sister who is three years and two days older. So for me birthdays are not too special because it was never just a day to really celebrate me. I will go all out for my kids birthdays and make sure we celebrate Anna and Austin separately (and together) because they are three days shy of four years apart.
Now this year I turn 40 and wouldn't mind to have a bigger get together with friends, but the weekend of my birthday half my friends are out of state. Instead we are going to Disney the end of July to celebrate.
What do you do for your birthday?
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
I always have to get my Starbucks. Disney for your birthday sounds perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteI can never pass up free coffee
DeleteDisney is a great idea for a big birthday celebration! Growing up my parties were always so small since all my friends were off on family vacations (my birthday is right around the 4th of July) but I definitely like to make a little celebration out of it but it's much easier to do now that my kids are older.
ReplyDeleteA Disney birthday celebration sounds amazing! We were there for my son's birthday a few years ago, and he loved wearing the birthday button.
ReplyDeleteI am the same about birthdays.. my husband and I have our birthdays back to back. So we usually have dinner.. maybe catch a show.. we don't do parties.. don't exchange gifts..
ReplyDeleteForty is a big one :) I just had a lunch with a few close friends. It was special. Disney sounds like fun - maybe sneak off for a little something just for you.
ReplyDeleteAhh! Getting the free birthday Starbucks drink is a must! That is a shame you had to share your birthday with your sister. My fellas and my girls birthdays are over 3 weeks and we always make sure to celebrate each one.
ReplyDeleteGoing to Disney sounds a great way to celebrate your birthday.
Disney sounds like a fun birthday celebration!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to be celebrated, but I don't need a big deal either. Disney sounds like a great way to celebrate your birthday.
ReplyDeleteI agree - I like to be celebrated and have the family treat me special, but it can be pretty low key. I usually choose an outing and/or a restaurant that I think the whole family, or at least the ones who will be present to celebrate, will enjoy as much as I do. How special to be planning a trip to Disney to celebrate your birthday!
