Hello Monday- Halloween Weekend

Hey loves. Happy Monday and Happy November. How was your weekend? We had a long weekend that is still going, my kids had no school on Friday and no school today. It has been filled with Halloween fun, birthday parties, and more.

It is also a 3 post day with Hello Monday, Meal Planning Monday, and Amazon Lately

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.

Thursday

It was Halloween party day at school. At our schools you can only sign up for one party per child per year. I picked the winter party this year. I signed up to check in all the parents for both my kids grades because their parties are at different times. By doing that I was able to escape and see them for a few minutes at their party but not have to be assigned to a station.

After school we were supposed to go to our schools trunk or treating that had gotten moved inside due to weather. It was cold, super windy, and raining sideways. It was just miserable. We opted to not go and had a low key evening at home.

Friday

Early morning, even without the kids having school Ella got home at little after 5am, so I was up to get her and just started my day. Friday is laundry day so I started laundry and my morning bible study time.

Then I headed downstairs to get a workout in. I have been doing Fit with Coco workouts and so far enjoying them.

Since I took of Thursday to be at my kids school I went into the office on Friday. I ended up working from 8 to 11, then the kids were calling they were hungry, Ella is being mean to me, I miss you mommy... so I came home to work from home. I grabbed McDonalds for lunch and myself an iced coffee from Panera on my way home.

Ella's friends started showing up for her Halloween birthday party sleepover around 3. They were all there by 530.

My 3 ready for trick or treating.

Ella and her friends

Ella and her friends went off on their own. While Austin and Anna went with us and our neighborhood friends. Brian's mom and aunt hands out candy at our house. We all had pizza, and chili together then ended the night with some drinks and watching the World Series.

Ella had cake with her friends. They played games Ella had planned, then fell asleep watching Hocus Pocus 1 and 2. There were only 3 girls and Anna who slept over.

Saturday

After a late night it was an early morning (with not much sleep for this mom) One of Ella's friends had to get picked up at 715 for the Cleveland Young Orchestra practice.

Then we were down to two and Anna. I also don't bend that way. Ella's other friend was picked up by 9.

After she left we took all the mattresses back upstairs, started washing all the bedsheets and blankets while watching Home Alone 1 and 2.

We had a somewhat lazy day. I took two naps. The kids played with their friends during the Ohio State game, Ella went shopping with her friend, and we had a pretty low key day.

Austin had a sleepover at his friends house the night before so he didn't have to be in a house full of teenage girls. It was his first sleepover with this friend and it went well. He also went to karate for his friend's birthday. He had fun but said it isn't his thing. In the afternoon he feels asleep sitting up watching football with his dad. They ended up cuddling on the couch and both taking a nap.

Sunday

Day light savings and we gained an hour of sleep. My kids still slept in until after 7. I had my alarm set for 7 to get up and get ready for church. Before church I did dishes, folded all the laundry from Friday, made breakfast for the kids and myself. Brian had to go to church early to help prep for a pancake breakfast we were having there also.

There was no Sunday School with having the pancake breakfast. My kids had some pancakes, sausage, and bacon and we headed home. I started taking down all our Halloween decorations and just leaving up fall and pumpkins.

Brian got home after 11 and he took down the outside decorations. I just realized I never took any pictures of our house decorated this year.

The kids relaxed waiting for their friends birthday party at 3.

I took Ella to fencing at 2 then went to the birthday party afterwards.

We spent the evening at our friends house. It ended up being a late night since all the kids have off school today (Monday).

  2. We've had two weekends in a row of birthday party-ing and I'm ready for a quieter November. Not sure it will happen but I do think Thanksgiving helps me take some deep breaths and relax. Have a nice week!
