6 Things You May Not Know About Me

Hey friends! I thought I would take a minute to reintroduce myself and tell you a few random things about me. First off if you are new... Hi, I'm Adrienne, mother to Aubriella (6) and Austin (2) and girlfriend to Brian of 4 years. Welcome to my little world on the internet. Thank you for stopping by. If you have been here before, Welcome back.

Here are 6 randoms about me:
1- I'm a stay at home mom, cheer mom, PTA member, and Daisy Girl Scout leader.

2- I am a former hair dresser and health and fitness coach. I love helping people gain confidence in their own skin, make them feel beautiful, and inspiring them to be the best they can be.

3- I am obsessed with everything Disney. Mickey and Minnie kissing melts my heart, and Snow White is my favorite princess.

4- Chocolate makes everything better.

5- My family is my number one priority.

6- I am far from perfect but I am me. Raising my family the best to my means possible.

You can find me over on Instagram and on Facebook.

Thank you again for stopping by. Have an wonderful day.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday. The weekend is almost here and I have no plans. I actually may get to relax. It is supposed to be cold and rainy all weekend in Cleveland so I see lots of hot tea, Hallmark CHRISTMAS movies and cuddles.

Today I am joining in with ErikaNarci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites just some randomness of the week.

My little girl is being Miss Independent. She insisted on making her own lunch (we take the lunch-able out of the container and put it in her lunch box with the cheese and sauce in separate containers)

Mr Prince Charming has been fighting a cold for the past few weeks. This past week I got the most cuddles and crawl up on mom and sleep that I have gotten in months.

Daisy Girl Scouts started this week for our troop. The girls had a lot of fun and earned their first badge, the middle of the flower. As the leader I get to see all the excitement, help plan, and share this journey with all of them.

She may turn into a Zebra. Now imagine her with a Zebra backpack too. I called her my zebra poof.

Can you feel her excitement. You would think I told her some great news or gave her a new gift.

Nope! Just the Target Toy Book. She sat down and went through all the catalog and marked off EVERYTHING she wanted. Didn't matter if she was to young or old for it. She wanted it. She is just like me when I was her age.

Trying a new organizational system and going back to a paper and (pretty) pen calendar system. Between school, Girl Scouts, PTA, appointments, Brian's work... we have a lot going on. I plan to always have my calendar on me and still keep our 1 kitchen calendar. It was being a lot with 5 different calendars for different things. Now trying everything in one place.

Car Pool Book Club

It is the last Thursday of the month, that can mean nothing more than it is time for Carpool Book Club with Grace and Love

Where has the month gone. Seriously. I can't believe it is the last Thursday of the month already. This month has flow by, with so much going on, to many commitments, but not much reading. I only read 1 books. Yes you read that correct only 1 full book. I normally each month at least read 3. Not this month.
Each month my goal is to read:
- one personal development/motivation/parenting book
- one book with my girlfriends book club
- one book for fun

This month I started a personal development book that I was enjoying but when I decided to stop being an online health and fitness coach I stopped making time for myself. Meaning I stopped waking up early and stopped reading my personal development book.

My girlfriend this month have also been crazy busy. We never got a chance to review the last book we read or start any new ones. Which is such a bummer since we had a couple of Halloween books in the line-up.

The one fun book I did was part of the Billionaire Love Stories series by Krista Lakes. I read Barefoot Kisses

(available on Amazon)

Barefoot Kisses has been my least favorite book from the series so far. It seemed to drag the story line on and didn't hook me until the end.

My goal for November is to get back on track with some sort schedule for reading. I want to read at least 6 books, I got a parenting book from the library as my personal book. My girlfriends and I are going to get back into book club (if they like it or not) and I want to read more for fun.

Slow Cooker Potato Soup

Fall weather is officially here in Northern Ohio. All week the high has been in the 50's. When the weather gets cold I crave soups and use my crock pot a lot more. My girlfriend Heather over at Heather's So Called Life, raves about her Slow Cooker Potato Soup. I just had to try it. In true Adrienne fashion I don't follow a recipe very well, and tweak it to make it my own. I love flavor and seasoning.

Slow Cooker Potato Soup

Ingredients:
1 32oz bag of frozen shredded hash browns
1 32oz box of chicken broth
1 10oz can of cream of chicken soup
1 8oz package cream cheese (not fat free)
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar (not fat free)
1 tsp rosemary
2 Tbsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp onion powder
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
1- Combine hash browns, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, cream cheese, and sharp cheddar.
2- Stir in all seasoning.
3- Cook on low for 6- 8 hours.
4- One hour before cook time is done stir and break up cream cheese.
5- Taste and adjust seasoning to your preference.
6- Serve.
7- Enjoy

I am hosting our first ever Friendsgiving.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving with the family

Who doesn't love watching the Macy's Thanksgivings Day Parade?

What Else is New...

Last night was our first Daisy Girl Scout meeting with the girls. It was a success and the girls said they had lots of fun.

Bonus Questions:

What is Your Favorite Thanksgivings Side Dish?

Show and Tell- Favorite Holiday

Happy Tuesday. It's time for some Show and Tell with Andrea from Momfessionals. This use to be my favorite day when I was in Kindergarten. Now I don't think most schools have any sort of Show and Tell. Today's topic is Favorite Holiday. The major Holidays are just around the corner and I have a love for all of them for different reasons.
My favorite holiday though would have to be Christmas. It has nothing to do with getting gifts, or buying gifts (which I hate both). If you would have asked me 20 years ago I loved Christmas because I was in my own world and loved getting gifts and having off school. Now I love Christmas for the memories, the traditions, the looks on my kids faces, the food, the fun, the smells, the lights....

Our holidays are hectic with having to split Ella with her father. Plus Brian and I also have huge families and try to make time for everyone. We have tried to start new traditions with our own little family to be able to include everyone, like decorating the tree on Thanksgivings morning while watching the Macy's parade every other year. This year I think we are going to hold off since I have a professional undecorater, I dont want to put up the tree to early. Ella does always get to put our Mickey and Minnie Star on our tree.

Like many families we have the tradition of Elf on the Shelf. I started it when Ella was a year. His name is Gus Gus. This year he needs to be on the ball with moving each night with two kids who are very observant.

Another one of our traditions is building a Gingerbread House. I suck at them, never have been any good. This is were Brian and Ella really bond. He is awesome with building (his architect background helps). We also bake lots of cookies and desserts. Everyone gets to help, give opinions, and eat them all.

Who came up with the idea of making your kids take a picture with a "fat guy in a red suit that is a stranger"? They always turn out so cute though, even when the kids are screaming, or looking the other way. It is like a tradition you have to do. (We don't always do the Easter Bunny, but Santa is a must)

Being the main helper for Santa and picking presents for everyone, I get overwhelmed and frustrated. Every year I say I am not going to help pick so many toys or stuff they don't need. My kids already have way too many toys (Who wants to come help me purge through their toys). But the gifts under the tree seem to get bigger and bigger every year. This year I am really trying to stick to a budget and not buy as many toys they don't need. I want more experiences, like a Zoo membership to go more often or the Science Center would be fun too.

I am that mom. We all have matching Disney pj's that we take a family photo in front of our Christmas tree every year.

Austin gets new pj's every year since he is growing like a weed though.

Here are a few other traditions we do every year:
- driving around looking at Christmas lights.
- decorate our house for the holidays, inside and out
- 25 days of Christmas books (kids open one book each night)
- lots of Christmas movies
- lots and lots of family time
- Christmas music non-stop, ok not really but I would if Brian wouldn't kill me

I can't wait for the Christmas season to start. (Hallmark Christmas movies start this weeeknd) What is your Favorite Holiday? What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?
