Hey loves. Happy Monday. Did you get hit by the biggest storm in history? It is crazy to me how bad the media made this storm to be, at least for us Ohioans. What we got was nothing different that a normal snow.
I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.
Friday
I had agreed to watch my girlfriends kids for a little while when she went out for a friends birthday before her husband got home. Austin sat at the window waiting until he saw his friends. We ended the evening with both neighborhood kids over, we had Jet's pizza for dinner and called it a night by 9pm.
Saturday
We accidentally slept in. We woke up at 745 and had to leave by 830 for basketball. Austin's basketball game was first in the city over. After his game we stopped by the house and picked up Ella then headed to Anna's game. We watched Anna's game then Ella went home with her friend for a sleepover.
After the game we stopped home to get ready to go to a birthday party. It was in the middle of nowhere. It was on a beautiful property snow covered with ponds and a one way driveway with valleys on both sides to get to the house they rented. We thankfully took the truck that has 4 wheel drive instead of my van.
Our neighbors ended up at our house for a little while to watch the Cavs came and for the kids to play. We ended up going through my shot glasses that have been packed away for a while. We joked a shot for every inch of snow we get. I have 60 shot glasses.
Sunday
Church in person was cancelled. They pre-recorded a service and shared it on Youtube and Facebook.
By 10 am we had a few inches and it was coming down heavy. The plow crews can not keep up with it. Our cities are also having a shortage of salt, so they were limiting what they salt and it is too cold for most salt to work.
Brian picked up Ella from her sleepover and got gas. Our snowblower is not working but one neighbor has a snow blower and the other neighbor got a plow for the front of his lawn mower.
We spent the day at our neighbors house bunkered down. Watching sports and the kids playing. By 1pm they had already called a snow day for today. There is already a talk of having off Tuesday and Wednesday for the cold. Only time will tell.

We got quite a bit of snow, but are in the same boat as your city that it's going to be too cold for the salt to do much. I'm not worrying about it though. We'll do what we can and lean in to the home together time. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteSo many places got snow this weekend! Even where we are in N. Florida is predicted to get some this coming Saturday, which I am not too excited about! I don't enjoy the cold. stay warm!
DeleteYes I think is going to be a day at home together as a family and not with our friends. Brian and I are also working from home today too.
DeleteI haven't been out yet but my husband and son have been out a few times to plow; I know most things are closed today but I'm taking it as a good sign that we haven't declared a state of emergency like we have with other storms... so yeah, I'm thinking a typical nor'easter which we get all the time. Your soup and bread looks so delicious! I have been craving chicken noodle soup today; I'm fighting off a head cold.
ReplyDeleteOhio did declare a state of emergency. Certain counties you're not allowed on the roads if you not emergency personnel. I hope you feel better.
