Our Week A Hot One

Hey friends. I am sure you heard and may have even experienced last week was hot. Temps in Northern Ohio were in the upper 90s with the heat index into the 100s. Last week was also busy with schedules, which were pre-planned weeks in advance or I would have adjusted to the heat better. Some days I have more pictures then others, it probably meant I was driving a lot of the kids were in the pool all day and not much else going on.

Friday Favorites Solo Parenting Week

Hey friends. We made it to Friday finally. I can't say I am excited enough and patiently waiting for Brian to get back from California tomorrow morning. This week has been rough. The kids have been fighting and arguing a lot. There was lots of whining and time spent in their rooms away from each other. When do I get time away? Even with the rough week we through in some fun too.

Hey friends. Happy What's Up Wednesday. How is it already the last Wednesday of the month. My favorite month is coming to an end and we celebrate my 39th birthday this weekend, as well as my nieces, and we have family in town from Seattle. Its been a fun busy crazy month.

It's that time for What's Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.

On the last week of June here's what's up...

Solo Parenting Grocery Haul and Meal Plan

Hey friends. This week I am solo parenting again. This is only the second time that Brian has had to go away for a week for work. I did a quick run into Aldi to grab groceries for the week. I dropped my middle off at summer reading camp, and my oldest woke up to watch my youngest. (oh to be a preteen and sleep until 11 would be great)

What Brought Me Joy in June

Hey friends. It has been a crazy month, last few months have been crazy busy. This week I am solo parenting and it is only day two and still stressful as can be when everyone is dependent on me and I have had to call in my tribe for help. Like always even with all the craziness I want to remember what brought me joy.

Hey friends. We made it to Friday. It has been a crazy hot week. Everyday since Sunday temps have been above 90 degrees and heat index into the 100s. Northern Ohio normally only get a few days of this in August not in June for a full week. Ella and Anna have also been outside in the afternoon every day for safety town. I am so grateful that they have big fans, lots of water, and the police station is letting them hang out in their garage to take breaks.

Hey friends. Summer is here. This week in Northern Ohio temps are in the upper 90s so it is very hot. My kids and I went to our local library last week and grabbed some fun summer themed books, as well as some fun camping themed books, and 2 outdoor cooking books. One of the books had a fun fruit salad we made, my kids loved, and I am sharing that as well.

Feeling like Summer

Hey friends. What is the weather like where you are at? This week in Northern Ohio our temps are in the upper 90s. It is really feeling like summer. The air conditioning is on, the pools are up in the backyard, you run from the car to the store.

We are on our second full week of Summer. It is a busy week.  Austin is in reading camp 4 days this week in the mornings (no school on Wednesday). Ella and Anna have safety town 4 days this week in the afternoon (no school on Friday). It will be a busy week driving back and forth plus the heat.

We also had a busy weekend with sports, shopping, and two Father's Day cookouts. Yesterday I just needed a rest day as much as possible. (plus all the driving and getting the house back in order)

Let's do a quick summer recap of summer....

Friday Favorites

Hey friends. We made it to Friday. It is our first full week of summer. Austin ended up with strep throat, this boy has the worst luck this year. Everyone is feeling good now and ready for a fun Father's Day weekend.

Bored Jar Summer Edition

Hey friends. School is out. Days of the kids being awake from sun up to sun down. Who else is dreading the kids starting with "I'm Bored" or "there is nothing to do" when you know there are hundreds of toys and things for your kids to do to entertain themselves? If you answered yes I have a solution to help you. A Bored Jar.

Our Summer Schedule

Hey friends. Summer is upon us. This summer I already know is going to be hectic, fly by the wind in our pants. I say all this as we are still going to try and have a schedule with routine for our family and lots of fun.

If you ask my 8 year old, summer means staying up all night, sleeping in everyday, watching as much TV as he wants, and unlimited Roblox and Xbox. I guess that is the dream life of a 8 year old. But that is far from the reality of what our summer is going to look like. I know that with his dream schedule would also mean lots of fighting when we try to do something not related to electronics, overstimulation, and not a lot of family time.

My dream summer would be my three kids playing nicely together, playing outside, not making horrible messes everywhere, not saying "I'm bored" a hundred times a day or "I have nothing to do", lots of fun swimming in our little pool, and not fighting. Add in two extra kids that I nanny two days a week to the fun of everyone getting along. Now I am being a big dreamer.

Back to reality even though this summer will be crazy for us on different aspects such as Brian working two jobs, Ella going back and forth to her dads, Austin is in a summer reading camp, Ella and Anna have safety town (Ella is working it), two extra kids, no big vacation planned... We still want to make some great memories and make our days go as smooth as possible. That's where some routines, expectations, chores, Summer Bucket List, I'm bored jar (which I am sharing all about tomorrow).

Summer Bucket List 2024

We are officially on summer break over here. Warmer weather, sunshine, time with friends and neighbors, and lots of fun. My kids and I sat down and made out our summer bucket list. We have been doing this for the last few years. It has helped not only get us outside, spend more time together as a family, and away from electronics but also plan fun memories. On those days when I'm like what should we do I will pick a fun activity off our bucket list or the kids will say lets do this today. Along with our personal bucket list with local ideas I created a fun general bucket list and a blank bucket list for you to fill out for your family.

Friday Favorite Officially Summer

Hey friends. Schools out for summer. My kids had their last day on Wednesday. We are officially on summer break, minus Austin having 3 weeks of summer reading program and 6 weeks of speech (but that is only one day a week) It is still more laid back schedules and more fun.

Last Day of School

And that is a wrap on the 2023/2024 school year. I officially have a Kindergartener, a 3rd Grader, and a Middle Schooler (which for us is 7th grade)

June Current Intentions

Hey friends. Happy June. My kids have their last day of school today then we are officially on summer break. Less structure, with routines, and lots of fun. Incase you missed it. Last month I switched up how I am tracking my intentions for the month. My monthly intentions were turning into more of a to do list just to be checked off instead of workings my yearly goals. With that I also revamped my yearly goals last month too. You can go back and read all about it in my May Intentions post.
