First Day of School 2024-2025 Edition

Hey friends. Summer has officially come to an end. We had a great summer and I am sad that all three of my kids are in school all day. The realty that I no longer have any kids at home.

What's Up Wednesday August 2024

Hey friends. Happy What's Up Wednesday. How is it already the last Wednesday of the August. Two of my kids started school today and we have Kindergarten orientation. I don't knowhow I feel about this yet. My last one is going to school. Her first full day is tomorrow, I will cry now.

It's that time for What's Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.

On the last week of August here's what's up...

Aldi Budget Friendly Grocery Haul with Meal Plan

Hey friends. It is back to school week. Things are a little hectic with all things back to school, prepping the house and yard to host Labor Day for about 40 people, and why not throw in a kid with a fever. (thankfully it was only like a 24 hour bug and she is back to normal). With a sicky I decided to do a quick Instacart order. Surprisingly I placed it at 7am and it was ready at 11. Sometimes it late afternoon especially on a Monday. Let's see what I got and our menu for the week.

What Brought Me Joy in August

Hey friends. It is sad that August and summer is coming to an end. Tomorrow my kids start school, we are hosting a labor day cookout which really feels like an end of summer party. August really flew by with a few days in Orlando, a tornado, and more. Like always even with all the craziness I want to remember what brought me joy.

Orlando Business Trip Day 3

Friday Favorites Last Week of Summer

Hey friends. Happy Friday. This is our last Friday before my kids go back to school. What is the weather like in your neck of the woods? It has felt like fall all went with temps in the 50s and 60s. Yesterday morning when I woke up it was 48, what they heck mother nature is confused and things it is officially fall. Next week we are back to upper 80s, thankfully my kids schools have air conditioning.

10 Tips to Get Organized for Back to School

It is hard to believe that back to school is coming so quick. We start next week and many kids are already in school. It can be easy to get overwhelmed with so much to get done and things to buy. Not just for you, but also for your kids. I have some tips to help you get organized for less stressful back to school. If you already started school it isn't to late to make some changes around the house either. There is no time better than the present to switch up routines and get organized.

Weigh In Wednesday August 2024

Hey friends. If you have been around for a while, I use to share a lot of workout, healthy living, inspiration, and accountability. I haven't done that in a long time. I stepped away from being a health and wellness partner/coach for my own mental health. I didn't want to just be a before and after photo, especially raising 2 daughters in a world full of "diet culture". I recently just committed to putting myself first and making time for me. I want to bring you along the journey with me. I am not connecting to my phone taking video of my workouts and food 24/7. I make it known to my kids that I am working out because it makes me feel better. There is no good and bad food, just foods that don't agree with mommy's belly. This is a great way to add accountability without the pressure. I am also linking up with Slices of Life for Weigh In Wednesday.

Budget Friendly Aldi Grocery Haul and Meal Plan

Hey friends. I shared a new Aldi Budget Grocery Haul over on Youtube today. I am doing a weekly series sharing what we are buying each week along with this weeks meal plan. I use a kitchen inventory system to help us know what we have on hand which helps us save money each week.

Family Command Center

Hey friends. Do you have a family command center in your house? I believe they are so essential to minimize clutter, keep things organized, and helps with day to day routines. Since moving into our new to us house almost 3 years ago we have had a command center somewhere in the house. At one time it was all in the kitchen/dining room. Now it is in our office. It is the home base for all the important paperwork and to know what is going on. Previously papers would be thrown on the table or the island, left in bookbags, and occasionally get lost.

Friday Favorites

Hey friends. Happy Friday. It doesn't feel like a Friday to me, I don't know what day it feels like. Since being back from Orlando I feel off, I can't get caught up on anything, there is so much I want/need to do and my kids start school in less than two weeks. I know it will all work out but until then we are still just enjoying our summer.

Orlando Business Trip Part 1

Hey friends. Last week I got the opportunity to go with Brian on a work trip to Orlando. I only had to pay for airfare and food. It was some much needed time with Brian and away from my kids. There were some hiccups, a tropical storm, tornadoes, 104 degree weather, lots of delicious food, some Disney and more.

Lets Look Pantry Edition

Hey friends. Since being gone most of last week and coming home to tornado clean-up I feel like I am playing catch up on getting stuff today. I planned on going grocery shopping on Monday then my car decided it wasn't going to start again. I ended up going shopping yesterday.

I am linking up with Erika and Shay today for this month's Let Look.

In January we looked at How we clean out closet
In February we looked at Little Things We Do Every Single Day
In March we looked at Our Grocery Carts
In April we looked at Our Daily Quiet Prayer Time
In June we looked at our Summer Schedules
In July we looked at Podcasts and Shows We Binge

This month we are looking at What's In My Pantry.

Stock up Grocery Haul with Menu Plan

Hey friends. I finally got to go grocery shopping in person yesterday. Thankfully I was able to get most of what was on our list. It was a few random things they didn't have like pretzels and a few things I had to grab an alternative like eggs.

Incase you missed it, while I was in Florida on a business trip with Brian tornadoes struck havoc on our city and neighboring cities. So far they have determined there was 5 tornadoes touched down and a week later there are still a lot of people without power. We are very fortunate to never lose power for an extended period of time and we had no damage, just the top came off our chimney and a few large tree limbs came down. There are a lot of people who lost everything in their fridge and freezer and have damage. This is very unusual for Northern Ohio, but the national weather service has said that Ohio is the new tornado alley and be prepared for more.

Tips to Transition from Summer to School

Hey friends. This summer has flown by. A new school year is right around the corner. I know some kids are starting this week, some even started last week. My kids don't start until the end of August. We are still in summer mode and having fun, but it is time to start transitioning into school mode. We have had a laid back summer with late nights and sleeping in. Next week we will be transitioning to school routines and getting all the things done. Even though I am ready to start getting them back into a routine I know they are not excited about it. Adjustments can be hard for everyone.

Share Our Lives Least Favorite Activities

Hey friends. I am back from a few days away with Brian, my kids still have two and a half weeks left before they go back to school. We are over here knocking more items off our summer bucket list and having fun. Are you kids in school yet?

It's time for the monthly link up, Share Our Lives. Join myself, DaraJenJoanna, and Sarah.

Friday Favorites Vacation Mode

Hey friends. We made it to Friday. We are home from my mini vacation and Brian's work trip. Even with flying around a tropical storm, tornadoes at home, and all the rain we had a wonderful time together without the kids. Parents need to make their relationship a priority too. Surprisingly I as on facetime with my parents at the same time that Tornado sirens started going off, we got the kids to the basement, and then lost connection. A few large branches hit our house and a piece broke off our chimney. Thankfully we only lost power and internet briefly. The rest of our city has not been so lucky and power is set to not be back on for up to a week. Prayers it doesn't take that long but there is a lot of tree downs, power lines done, and damage all around.

Hey friends. I am back with book monthly book reviews. I set my goal at the beginning of the year to read 150 books. 7 months in and I have only read 70. That would mean for the next 5 months I would have to read 16 books each month. I honestly don't see my goal being reached but I am not going to change it or get discouraged. I read because I enjoy it, not just to check something off a list.

Total physical/kindle books: 4

Total audible:  7

Total books for 2024:  70

Goal: 150 books

9 Tips For Leaving Kids When You Travel

Hey friends. I am coming at you again from Florida. Brian is down here on a work trip and I came along for the ride. While he is out working on some sales calls I am just relaxing in the hotel and getting some things done for my Etsy store and blog. The holidays will be here before we know it.

This is only my second adults only vacation where we are flying somewhere. I am considering this a vacation for me, even though Brian will be working part of the trip. I am sharing 9 tips today for leaving kids when you travel.

What's In My Carry On?

Hey friends. Hello from Florida. Brian is on a work trip and I got to tag along this time. I am very grateful for grandparents stepping up to help out with my kids for a few days. This was a last minute trip, so many things were up in the air. Flights didn't get booked until last Wednesday and we left on Sunday with delays and flying around a tropical storm. With that I was so stressed with what to pack, what not to pack and to make matters worse we were not checking any luggage so everything had to go in my carry on suitcase or personal bookbag.

Our Week with birthday and fun

 Hey friends.

Sunday July 14

I took no photos this day. After the party it was more of a relaxing day, cleaning up, and playing with all the toys. We went to church then home to relax. The kids played on the waterslide.

Friday Favorites Hello August

Hey friends. We made it to Friday. It has been a busy productive hot week. I took the kids one by one to the store to buy their school supplies. I was not crazy enough to take all 3 at the same time. We have spent a lot of time outside and with friends. Enjoying our last few weeks of summer.

August Intentions

Hey friends. July is over and August is officially here. It feels like summer with temps in the 90s. We have been jumping from either the air conditioning or the kids playing on their new waterslide. Even though school doesn't start for a few more weeks, we have already started our back to school prep. It will be here before you know it.
