Friday Favorites End of January

Hey loves. It's Friday. How was your week? I had hoped it would have been a back to normal week with 5 days of school for everyone. Unfortunately I ended up with a sicky home for 3 days. Fingers crossed no one else gets sick.

Any plans this weekend? Ella has a Girl Scouts event, Austin has basketball, and Brian and I are supposed to have an outing with our church group. Fingers crossed everything works out.

Monthly Musing January 2025

Hey loves. A quick post today and linking up with Monthly Musings for some Winter Self-Care with  Patty and Holly. It true life fashion, this week isn't going as planned with a sick child at home. Hopefully she doesn't spread the germs to everyone.

What's Up Wednesday January 2025 Edition

Hey friends. Happy What's Up Wednesday. It is finally the end of January. Anyone else feel like January was 600 days long? From an extended winter break, to snow days, freeze days, and new schedules this month has felt so long. I am ready for the short month of February.

It's that time for What's Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.

On the last week of January here's what's up...

Hey loves. Valentine's Day is right around the corner. I am ready to decorate with pink, red, and hearts. I have seen so many cute decorations, gifts, accessories, etc and I want them all. I am doing a no spend January so I haven't bought anything yet, but I am sharing what I have my eyes on.

Hello Monday

Hey loves. Happy Monday. I am so excited for the week ahead. We have 5 days of school, fingers crossed no snow, ice, freeze, or sick days. We had a good weekend. It has already been a busy Monday and a crazy Monday at that. Hence the late post. I had to pick Ella up at 6am from her dads, came home and started getting ready for the day. She ended up missing the bus (not her fault Brian was putting around driving her to the bus stop) so I ended up driving her to school. Then rushed home to get my kids ready and to the neighbors house for them to get them on the bus. Brian and I had an IEP meeting at the school at 8am. Then we had an office meeting at 930, 45 minutes away that we were late to, but we had a wonderful understanding boss. It has just been a go go go morning. I am ready for a nap.

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday. Let's see what we did this weekend.

Meal Planning Monday Week 182

Hey loves. Happy Monday. I am excited for a new week. Fingers crossed for a normal week with 5 days of school for all the kids. Lets dive into this weeks menu

Friday Favorites The Freeze

Hey loves. It's Friday. I hope you are all staying warm. It has been a crazy week. I normally love winter, it is so pretty to watch the snow fall and I would rather have snow over rain and mud. I am over all the cold already this year and it isn't even February yet. Are you feeling the same? I hope you enjoyed your week.

12 Things to Learn in 2025

Hey loves. In the last few weeks I have shared my Word of the Year, Yearly Goals, January Goals, and 25 Things to Do in 2025. I mentioned that I want to learn 12 new things in 2025.

Hodge Podge January 21

Hey loves. It is Wednesday but feels like a Sunday. My kids have been off school at week for MLK day and two freeze days. They better at least go back to school tomorrow, they are already off on Friday. It has been the weirdest week.  I linking up with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond for Wednesday Hodge Podge.

Saving Money with Kitchen Inventory System and Meal Planning

Hey loves. Every week I do these few simple steps that have helped save our family hundreds of dollars a year on our grocery budget. This is without slaving away all day in the kitchen, cutting coupons and running to 5 different stores every week, or eating crazy amounts of leftovers.

Grocery prices are through the roof, and any little bit of saving money helps. Along with that is also not wasting food. As a budget conscious family of 5, I have been determined to help cut our grocery bill, without eliminating healthy foods and some convenience, and have succeeded. I am sharing with you all my tips to help your family.

Hello Monday

Hey loves. Happy Monday. How was your weekend? We had a relaxing weekend and prepping for the extreme cold weather we are getting for the next couple of days. I am talking feels like temps could be -24. We are waiting to see if the kids have off school. Either way we are prepared with gas in the car and air in the tires (my tire light has been on for the last week), we grabbed some extra food, restocked the firewood, got gas for the generator and have space heaters ready to go. I have no idea how people who deal with these colder temps all the time do it. Any tips?

I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.

Meal Planning Monday Week 181

Hey loves. Happy Monday. It is game day. Ohio State Football plays in the championship game tonight. It is going to be a fun day. It is also going to be a crazy week with my kids school, will they go Wednesday or just Thursday. They are off today for MLK, Tuesday for a freeze day, and Friday for the end of the quarter. Potential off Wednesday for another freeze day. I went grocery shopping this past Friday and grabbed a bunch of food to last us throughout the week with them home, more fruit and a couple of snacks.

Friday Favorites

Hey loves. It's Friday. How was your week? I finally feel like I am caught up on a lot and in a good routine. Next week is another story. I hope to stay consistent next week as well even with my kids off 2 if not 3 days.

Cozy Self Care Rituals

Hey loves. Winter blues have started. Cold dreary days when you don't want to get out of bed. It is the perfect time to slow down and do some self care. You deserve and need some time for you. Focusing on small things that bring me comfort.

Hodge Podge Jan 15

Hey loves. How is your week going? It is our first full week back to school since we had an unexpected snow day last week. Next week my kids have a 3 days week, they are off Monday and Friday which is so weird. With that I am trying to do all the things, prepare for the weeks ahead, catch up on cleaning that hasn't happened since before Thanksgiving. Life is just a little hectic right now. I linking up with Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond for Wednesday Hodge Podge.

Meal Planning Monday Week 180

Hey loves. Happy Monday. It's another busy day and week ahead. We are still doing our freezer/pantry challenge using the kitchen inventory system. Also no buy store bought bread. Last week I made 2 loaves of artisan bread, mini muffins, and sourdough discard sandwich bread. This week I plan on making mini bagels as well as bread.

Friday Favorites

Hey loves. It's Friday, I think. What was supposed to be a full week of new schedules and routines. It started with Monday being a snow day for the kids, Brian went into the office which I was supposed to also go in for a meeting but ended up doing my meeting via zoom. Since then I lost my motivation to wake up and do anything. It feels like a long week. I am ready for a relaxing weekend with possibly more snow.

Ode to 2024

Hey friends. Happy New Year. The Good, the bad, and the ugly. I share mostly the positive of life here on my blog, who really wants to hear all the negative. Through-out the year I have been compiling a list of the good, and the bad. I love reflecting back on the year. Let's recap it. and some random thoughts at the end too.

January Goals 2025

Hey loves. Happy New Year. I have been spending the last couple of weeks soaking in all the time with my kids home and reflecting on my intentions for last year, what I achieved and didn't, and setting new goals for 2025. Yesterday I shared my word of the year, which is Simplify, as well as my yearly goals. Each month I am going to set monthly goals based on hitting my yearly goals and then some.

2025 Word of the Year

Hey loves. Happy New Year. I love this time of the year. It always feels like fresh start, the opportunity to look back at the back year of what you enjoyed and what you want to change.

The past few weeks I have been doing a lot of thinking for my word of the year for 2025. A few years back I stopped setting new years resolutions instead I pick a word of the year and based on the word I set goals or specific intentions.

Meal Planning Monday Week 179

Hey loves. Happy New Year. First meal plan of the year. For the month of January we are doing a freezer pantry challenge. I am also doing no store bought bread challenge. I am making everything myself, minus sandwich bread for Anna's lunches because I haven't found another bread she will eat yet.

Over the weekend I did a full Kitchen Inventory. I got rid of two garbage bags of expired food, stuff that got shoved to the back of the fridge that no one is going to eat (homemade pickles, sour kraut, opened bags lost in the pantry). I was shocked because I go through these pretty frequently.

Hey loves. Happy New Year and Happy January. It is time to look back at what I purchased from Amazon in December. I didn't do a lot of online shopping this year, Brian wanted to go shopping in person. This year we spent a lot less and the kids got less jump because I didn't feel like we had to have so many presents, more of things they actually wanted/needed. I am linking up with Tanya over at The Other Side of the Road Prime Purchases.

Also for the month of January I am doing a no spend month. We are only buying essentials and/or things we absolutely need.

Friday Favorites Happy New Year

Hey loves. It's the first Friday of 2025. I remember growing up and I would write the wrong year for months. It feels so natural to say 2025 I think I am just ready for a new year. I thought I would be ready to kick my kids off to school after they have been home for two weeks, but I am not ready for them to go back. We had a fun break, not much fighting either.

Time for some Friday Favorites with these lovely ladies: Erika, and Andrea. Sharing a few favorites from the last week. I will do a bigger winter break recap next week.

Currently

Hey loves. Happy New Year. It is crazy saying that it is 2025. It has been a fun last couple of weeks celebrating Christmas, New Years, spending time as a family, seeing lots of family and some friends. All of the food, cheese, cookies, chocolate, wine... anyone else in sluggish mood from all the foods. It is sad at the same time knowing that next Monday it is back to full reality, back to school, new work schedules, and sports.

I am linking up with Jenn over at Overflowing with Thankfulness on the first Monday of every month for Currently.
