Holiday Traditions

Christmas may look a bit different this year, but we are still trying to keep up with our normal holiday traditions as much as possible while still staying safe and healthy. To us the holidays are about family, our kids, making memories, and seeing the glisten in our kids eyes.

Here are some traditions we are still doing this year:

~ Elf On The Shelf ~

You either love or hate the Elf on the Shelf. GusGus, our elf has been coming since to visit every year since Ella was a baby.

~ Driving Around Looking at Christmas Lights ~

A girlfriend tagged me in a post of Facebook about wasting gas driving around looking at lights. Spending time with family, seeing lights, bringing happiness and joy from seeing lights it worth using gas to me.

~ Advent Chocolate Calendar ~

My kids love having a small piece of chocolate after breakfast.

~ Advent Disney Christmas Books ~

Last year we purchases an advent book calendar. Each day the kids open a different book that we read before bed.

~ Bake Cookies ~

I grew up baking cookies with my parents and have carried the tradition on with my kids.

~ Watch Christmas movies ~

Every year we have to watch Polar Express, the Grinch. and Home Alone with popcorn and hot chocolate.

~ Build Gingerbread Houses ~

Brian enjoys building gingerbread houses with the kids nd letting them decorate it.

  1. Looks a lot like our lists! We love our elf. He doesn't get into too much trouble. ;)

    1. Our elf does cut mischief but nothing far out that. I have a friend who's elf is bad. I am not a fan of that.

  2. Those are just about the same traditions we have; though my boys stopped believing just last year so our elf finally retired.
