10 Things To Do At the Beginning of Each Month

Hey loves. It is hard to believe that October starts this weekend. I love a new year because it always feels like a brand new start. You have 365 days to reach your goals. But how often do we forget what are goals are a few weeks and months after the new year. A few years ago I switched that mindset and look at each month as a fresh start. The joy of making positive changes with so much possibility.

Each month I am not just setting new goals for that month but looking back at the previous month goals at what I achieved and what I didn't achieve. This makes it easier tracking my progress, and helps to set realistic achievable intentions.

These 10 things I do at the beginning of each month

November Goals

Hello November. I don't know if I am more excited that October is over or that November is here and this month will hopefully be less crazy. We had a fun month but was crazy with weather. I am ready for lots of curling up with Hallmark movies, Hot chocolate and tea, and a few good books.

October Goals

Hello October. This month is already flying by, we are already a week in. I love October because all the fun and memories we make with fall. From going to pumpkin patches, trick or treating, and I can't forget Ella's birthday. Time to make some goals for the month.

September Goals

Another late start on sharing my goals for September. I finally feel like I am getting back into the swing of things, getting a routine going for me and my kids, and being productive.

Lets take a look back at my August Goals

- Pack for Disney
- Finish all Disney crafts
- Complete more items off our Summer Bucket List.
- Brian and I one date night
- Prepare for back to school

Now that school is back in session I have more goals and plans for this month.

- Eat More Veggies
- Drink minimum 70 oz of water
- Workout minimum 3 days a week
- Come up with new cleaning list
- Make Girl Scout calendar

We had some great memories this summer. Later this month we will be coming up with our fall bucket list.

What are you goals for this month?

April Goals

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Oh I hope it is true. We already have lots of rain, snow, and weird weather in our forecast. Today is supposed to be in the upper 60's but raining/storming all day. Then tomorrow we are supposed to have snow. Good ol' Ohio weather.

Last month I started back up with doing monthly goals. I have them written on and posted on my fridge as a reminder these are things I want to achieve this month. Looking back I completed half my goals. I will take that as a win. This month is already crazy hectic with Spring Break, mini getaway with the kids, and Brian and I adults vacation. I am limiting this months goals since I already know it will be chaotic.
Here's a look back at March:

Healthy and Fitness:
Continue 5am Workouts
Weekly Step Goal 60,000
Drink 70oz of water a day

House:
Organize Bowls
Start Clearing Out Office
Make Master Cleaning List

Random:
Start Planning Family Vacation
Get A Massage

Family Game Night
Family Movie Night
Eye Appts Everyone
Plan Something Fun for Spring Break

Dates:
Mother - Daughter
Family

Girlfriends
Play Date
Brian - I

My health and fitness was a fail. I started off strong then took a jump off the deep end and never found my way back to the top. This month I am being more realistic and trying to make it a lifestyle instead of just a "diet" or "countdown of days"

Goals for April:

Health and Fitness:
- track food
- 60,000 steps a week
- 70 oz of water
- complete the LSF Spring Challenge
- 30 day plank challenge

House:
- Clean kids toys in basement
- organize extra kitchen stuff

Random:
- Eye Appointments
- Plan Happy Project
- Family Game night
- Family movie night
- try one new recipe a week
- start planning a budget

Dates:
Mother - Daughter
Family
Playdate
Brian -  I

March Goals

I took a few months off from doing monthly goals. I still have been doing my daily to do's and weekly things that needed to get done. Since I didn't write out monthly goals I felt like I slacked on getting stuff done if it didn't have to be done. I can be big on I'll do it later, there is always tomorrow, and I'll get to it. I am back into a great morning routine that is working for me. Now I need to get back into a monthly routine and being productive and having some more priority's.

Year Of Me Look Back
We are already 2 months into the new year. My goal was to live a more INTENTIONAL AND GUILTLESS LIFE. I am feeling great about this. I am focusing back on myself, eating healthy, working out, spending more time with my kids and family, less time on social media. I am happy, healthy, loved and sharing it with everyone.

New Year New Outlook

Hello 2018. I love the fresh start of a new year. Especially when the year starts off on a Monday. This past holiday season was exciting, fun and long. We completed most of our Christmas Bucket List, spent lots of time with family, we have had a lot of snow and really cold temperatures so we can't play in it, and ate way too many cookies and junk.

This first week of the year we are working on recharging, starting a new schedule, cleaning, organizing, and planning. (this really means getting rid of all the junk food left in my house) I am getting recharged and ready to embrace 2018. I took a little time off from blogging in the end of December and I didn't stress it. I have taken an unplanned step back from working out (more on that later). I also have been pretty lazy this holiday season and watched a lot of Hallmark movies. Time to get my butt motivated and start doing stuff again.

2017 had a lot of changes. Good and bad and a roller coaster of a ride. I took a lot on my plate, Brian had more added to his plate, and our family had more needs.
- I left the travel agency I was working with. We were not a good fit with goals, quotas, and support.
- I left my full time job to be a stay at home mom in April. I wouldn't change that at all. This was the best decision we made as a family, for our family.
- Ella started Kindergarten. With that I became a Daisy Girl Leader, and an active member of the PTA. Ella also did cheerleading in the fall for a different school district so we had to drive an hour round trip 2-3 times a week for practice and games.
- In October I stopped being a Beachbody coach and helping, inspiring, and motivating others and myself on a health and fitness journey. At the time I did what I believed was best for myself and our family. However by doing so I stopped working out, putting my own health and fitness as a priority. I didn't realize at the time how much I needed that accountability and support in my life.

Every year we set goals for ourselves. How often do we really achieve all, most, or any of our goals? Last year I had very unrealistic unattainable goals, since I put way too much on my plate. I made categories and listed way too many things I wanted to achieve or do. Looking back I didn't complete 3/4 of them. My goals and priorities changed as the year went on. I honestly forgot what I had written down. I wanted to do so much all at the same time, but there wasn't enough time, motivation, or priority.

This year I want to be the YEAR OF ME!!! I want to live a more intentional and guiltless life.I need/want to focus on myself again. When I was working out daily and eating less processed, wholesome food I had so much more energy and wasn't as sick as often, or for as long and I didn't have my back pain flair-ups. I don't want to do it to get attention from anyone. I need to do it for myself because I care about how I look and feel. I want to create a lifestyle that works for me and my family that includes a healthy balance of fit, fun, and freedom.
By doing this for me, my family especially my kids will benefit by having the happy, healthy, active, present mom back again.

What are your goals for 2018? I'd love for you to share them with in the comment section below.
