Mother's Day Recap

Hey loves. How was your weekend? We had a wonderful weekend with gorgeous weather spent with friends and family. I spent most of the day on Saturday cleaning and cooking to prepare for hosting Mother's day brunch. (I should get to relax and not having to do anything for Mother's Day but we all know that is never going to happen, someone else cutting the grass.) Every time I started cleaning or after I finished the kids dumped back out the toys, put finger prints on everything etc. Oh the joys of motherhood. Sunday did end up being a wonderful day though....

I got to sleep in until 7 then my body woke me up, but better than a kid "I want cereal".  I enjoyed scrolling my phone in peace. Around 745 the kids and Brian brought me breakfast in bed. We do have a bedtable but Brian couldn't find it because it was in Ella's room but a baking sheet works just as well. Not pictured was the cup of coffee.

My two cuties who came to wake me up, then started cuddling then started fighting.

I also had the cutest little egg thief. and yes her dad did feed cereal this was her second breakfast. She also had a third breakfast when she shared with his breakfast.

Did my hair, put on a dress and got ready for the day. I had originally planned on going to church but ended up losing track of time watching Bridgerton. I had to pick up Ella. When we got home people were starting to arrive.

Ella got the love of the girls.

My sister in law surprised me with an iced coffee. The drink of the day was liquid fruit salad aka mimosas that turned into screw drivers.

I didn't take a picture of any of the food. We have a waffle bar with fresh berries. Salad with the fix-ins, crock pot egg quiche, sausage gravy and biscuits, and an assortment of bakery items.

My mother's request was to get a picture of my sister, her and myself since it has been years since we got one together.

There were 21 of us at my house. From family to friends. It was a nice time.

Me with my kids.

The true me.

  1. What a lovely mother's day weekend! We stayed home and I didn't have to lift one finger all day. It was wonderful!
