What's Up Wednesday February 2024

Hey friends. Happy What's Up Wednesday. How is it already the last Wednesday of the month. I am so ready for a new month. I have officially declared March to be my fresh start and "new year vibe". We have had a rough start to 2024 with so much sickness in our house that I have had to take a step back and slow down to be a mom 100% of the time. Their needs come before my wants. It was a good think to really to really focus on what is important to me in my life and not try to do all the things and make changes. I am really grateful to be home with my kids, not have to take off work, and be the one to take care of them when they need me most, even if that means I get sick too.

It's that time for What's Up Wednesday with Shay, and Sheaffer. On the last Wednesday of every month we are all invited to share a little bit everything that has been going on for the past month.

On the last week of February here's what's up...

~ WHAT I AM REMINISCING ABOUT ~

3 years ago. Audrianna and her curls and that smile.

Austin 8 years ago.

2 years ago when we took Ella to watch Ohio State Girls basketball.

~ WHAT I AM LOVING ~

Brian and Austin have gotten to go to a Cavs game and a Ohio State Basketball game. I love they are bonding and doing something that Austin enjoys.

Spring is in the air and my wildlife friends are making their appearances again. The deer, birds, and squirrels and back and hungry.

I got my nails done for the first time is forever, I mean years. I love that I took the time to do something for me, and the color just puts me in a good mood.

Sibling love. Even with all the sickness going around these two are the cutest together.

A new Disney Matching game that we are loving playing multiple times a day.

~ WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO ~

All the baking. My goal is to not buy store made/bread. So I am learning how to make all the different breads. Sourdough and bagels are always on rotation. I just tried English muffins again and they were a win. I made a sandwich bread but my kids are not sold on it yet.

All the games. Anna is in her game era. She has about 6 that we have on rotation throughout the day.

Austin finished up this season of basketball. He did great. He grew so much and learned a lot.

There has been a lot of napping this month for everyone. From everyone being sick, to sleepless nights, calls for lots of naps.

There has also been lots of cuddles.

This is the first I am sharing some of Anna's rash from having an allergic reaction to amoxicillin again, after they told us she wasn't allergic after being tested. This is not the worst of it. This time wasn't as serve as last year when she had a reaction either. This year the rash did bother her, it itched.

The worst of it happened on her face. (last year she only had a little on her face) She has missed a lot of school because of the rash.

Everyone was finally feeling better and able to make it to our friends birthday party at a local gymnastics place.

Austin even had a blast running around with all girls and didn't want to leave.

~ WHAT I AM DREADING ~

This crazy weather of 60s one day then the next down in the 20s. I am praying we don't get sick from all this craziness. I am so over it.

~ WHAT I AM WORKING ON ~

I updated all my kitchen inventory. (fridge, freezer, pantry, etc). Brian has the habit of going to Costco and Fresh Thyme, buying food and putting in in the freezer and I don't know what it. As you can see our freezer is stuffed. I have been making our dinner menu based on what we have on hand. This saved us over $50 just this week at Aldi (that includes all the extras i bought that weren't on the list, don't go shopping bored)

I am working on recipe guide to add to my Etsy shop for breakfast freezer stash. to help make mornings less stressful and save money on your grocery bill.

Starting on March 1 I am doing a declutter 1 item a day challenge with that organizing/purging a different area/section a day. I will be sharing on Instagram stories while I do it.

~ WHAT I AM EXCITED ABOUT ~

Warmer weather and sunshine. My goal is to get outside as much as possible while the weather allows.

Anna got accepted into speech therapy at our local school. We are in the process of getting her enrolled so she can start improving her speech.

~ WHAT I AM WATCHING ~

I have a few Christmas movies from the Hallmark Channel and GMAC still on my Frndly app that I have been watching before they delete.

~ WHAT I AM READING ~

One Night Only by Lauren Blakely

~ WHAT I AM LISTENING TO ~

Current book I am listening to is Outlive by Peter Attia

~ WHAT I AM WEARING ~

New tank tops I got. I got them in a large so they are flowly. They are a little see through but I always wear a black sports bra.

~ FAVORITE AMAZON PURCHASE THIS MONTH ~

Silk pink leopard pillow cases that zip closed. No more pillow falling out of the case and has helped some with knots.

~ WHAT WE ARE DOING THIS WEEKEND ~

We are going to the Lake Erie Monsters hockey game with our church. Brian and the kids are going to finish painting the office (that Brian started to remodel when I was sick) and start putting in the new floors. Spend time outside too.

~ WHAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH ~

St. Paddy's Day, My nieces birthday that consisted of a Taylor Swift sleepover at my house, Easter and the start of Spring Break.

  2. We had a doctor tell us the same thing about 2 of my son's who both broke out in rashes from amoxicillin too but I'm skeptical since I am highly allergic to it myself. They never needed amoxicillin again so thankfully I've never had to test that theory out. I too have been trying to make more of my own breads and not buy from the store but I'm not sure I can keep up with it with the way my boys eat. LOL

    1. Its crazy how many people I hear who are allergic to amoxicillin. My oldest and I are also allergic. I am loving making homemade bread but my kids are not the biggest fan of sourdough . I keep trying different recipes to see what they will like.

  3. Your nails look great! Love the color choices! I found out in my early to mid-twenties that I'm also allergic to amoxicillin. I feel like it had to have been an allergy I got later in life because I can't imagine that at no point during my childhood did I not have it. But I looked the same, I broke out everywhere!
