Hello Monday

Hey loves. This weekend went by way to quick. It was busy and productive, but not many pictures. I have been working on being present and intentional with my time more with my family and friends. I am so ready for summer, we have a few more weeks until the kids our out of school and new routines and schedules. I can't wait.

I am linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday.

Friday

The girls I babysat for got picked up then we left to get gas from Sam's Club. It is a little bit of a drive but it was .50 cents cheaper a gallon and we were heading that way to my parents anyways. We dropped Ella off at my parents house to have a sleepover at my sisters. Then we dropped Anna and Austin off at Brian's parents house for a sleepover. Then home for a date night with Brian.

We decided to order take out enjoy some wine at home and watch a movie, that was not a cartoon. For dinner we had a local Italian restaurant. I ordered chicken marsala with penne pasta, but got angel hair pasta instead. I was a little disappointed. Brian got chicken carbonara which ended up really just being alfredo with bacon, not a typical carbonara. The wine I wasn't a fan of made my tongue tingle. We were 0/2.

We had have some much needed conversations without kids interrupting. We watched Blended with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. We had seen it before but didn't see anything that really catch our eye to watch.

Saturday

What was suppose to be a morning of sleeping in, we were still up at 630. We had breakfast at home and just slowly got ready to pick up the kids and head to soccer. We get to Grandma's then I realize we forgot Anna's soccer cleats so we had to run back home. We made it to soccer with a few minutes to spare and thankfully I found parking.

Anna was in a mood and did good half the practice. She is in the back wearing orange.

After soccer we dropped the kids off, my parents and Ella were back at the house, then headed to the Cleveland Art Museum to meet a few members of our church for brunch and a tour. Brunch was delicious, I had avocado toast with a poached egg. The tour was interesting but I felt like what the tour guide was saying was a lot of personal opinion instead of facts about the artists.

The rest of the evening we spent at home. Our neighbor came over with their kids. The kids mostly got along. We enjoyed some wine and I made sourdough pizza.

Sunday

Anna had a rough night sleep and was in our bed at 430. We got very little sleep after that. We didn't get out of bed until 7.

We headed to church. As soon as we pulled in the driveway Anna asked if I had her "bag of wonder". She got the bag last week and had to put any item of her choice in the bag, then when she goes back to church Pastor Charli tells you how the item relates to  the bible and God. Anna put a fish and mermaid in the bag. Pastor Charli related the fish to water and every time you touch water you are reconnected with being a child of Christ.
I drove home quickly and got back in time before the children's service.

After our service the church had a groundbreaking ceremony for a new outdoor Peace Pavilion that is being build. Everyone was requested to bring a shovel, and they gave out hats to all the kids and the rest of random adults.

The kids loved playing in the big pile of dirt, they actually had broke ground last Thursday. Anna ended up barefoot and on top the dirt pile.

The rest of the day we spent at home. Brian cut the grass, and edged the driveway. I did some housework, made our grocery list and menu for the week, as well as played with the kids, oh and made dinner and cleaned up messes.

Even though it was a busy weekend it was a much needed time with our family, and one one one with Brian. We also had gorgeous weather. The next few days are in the 80s.

How was your weekend?

  1. Glad you got that date night, even if it didn't go exactly as planned. I haven't seen that movie so we'll look for it. We seem so often to be looking for something new to watch, but end up with a replay of something we know we'll like. Have a nice week!

    1. I agree I prefer to watch something I know I will like over being disappointed. I also feel like there haven't been any real good movies out lately.
