What We Really Did All Summer

Hey friends. Do you also feel like summer flew by in a blink of an eye? Ours was a wonderful mix of busy and lazy. We didn't have a big vacation, just did more smaller things.

I mentally look back and think we didn't do enough, we should have done a big vacation, we didn't check everything off our bucket list. Then I started thinking about all the things we did do, some of which wasn't on our bucket list. I asked my kids if they had a good summer and they said yes. Even though they are not all 100% excited to go back to school. (welcome to have a teenager)

It is all about the memories of what we did do, and not dissecting what we didn't do or could have done differently. (picture overload)

Summer Highlights:

June:

We started off the month with Austin getting his cast off, then we walked a 5k for the TJ Carrie heart foundation. TJ is a former NFL player and friend/client of Brian's.

The kids had fun sitting in different vehicles at Meet the Trucks.

Our little church group had an outing to the Cleveland Guardians game followed by pizza. The kids were invited along too. Only Austin had an interest of going with us.

Anna and Austin got new pets, Austin got 3 fish and Anna got an African aquatic frog. I have to admit they are both still surviving and I am the one feeding and turning on/off their lights.

We went to the library a few times.

Some backyard cookout fun with cotton candy.

Water balloon fight with the neighbors.

They spend lots of time in the little pool. (it warms up quicker and doesn't have a hole)

Ice cream at home

Once a month in the summer our church as an outdoor service. We came prepared to activities to keep the kids entertained.

Family naps

Out to get ice cream.

Ella attended Safety Town for a week, Ella also volunteered the same week. It was the hottest week of the whole year and they were miserable but Anna learned a lot.

More pool time, we ended up going through 3 of the bigger blow up pools this summer as they kept getting holes and I couldn't find them.

Sparklers and snap pop its fun with neighbors.

Fun at Cedar Point. Every time Ella went with us she brought a friend to ride the bigger rides with.

Most of the time Austin and Anna also had a friend this year, with our neighbors.

This face

and his smile.

We went to the Deer Park.

They loved feeding all the deer and goats that came right up to you and ate out of your hand.

We made an impromptu stop at the lake, we live 10 minutes from Lake Erie. I said don't get your clothes wet. They all ended up soaked.

July started off with these two doing lots of sleepovers in each others room.

The guys suffered through the Hot Ones challenge of spicy hot sauces. They are already talking about doing it again next year.

Brian rented an excavator to move large rocks that were throughout our yard and put them in the back. He also started digging a pond and leveling out a flower bed.

Austin had a birthday party at a local nature center. Anna found the kids play room and said she climbed a tree.

Trailers that tilt are meant for racing cars down it.

More fun at the library.

What was suppose to be a fun day at Cedar Point started off with Austin losing his glasses on a rollercoaster the he had road before with no issues. They never did find them.
