Hello Monday on a Tuesday

Hey friends. How was your weekend? We had a fun weekend with some family time and time with friends, lots of sports, but not many photos.

Friday

On Friday my kids had off school for a teacher association day where the teachers have meetings and training. Most of the schools in Northern Ohio are closed for it. Brian thought it would be a great day to take the kids to Cedar Point. Bad idea. It normally is an hour to get to Cedar Point, it took us close to two hours with accidents and traffic. Right at the entrance of the part it took 22 minutes to go 2 miles.

Inside the park half the rides were not open. (Cedar Point sends back their international students around Labor Day, and college kids are back to school.) Ride lines were from 30 minutes for the kid rides to over 2 hours for the roller coasters. We were at the park for 3 hours and the littles rode 3 rides. The bigger girls only rode the Ferris wheel. Brian also stood in line for 40 minutes to get the kids fries and corn dogs.

It was nice to get out of the house and spend time together. Ella also brought a friend who was just happy to not be at home all day.

After Cedar Point I had a dinner date with a girlfriend. We went to Condado for tacos. We both got a shrimp taco that was extremely spicy and we didn't end up eating much. We then came back to my house for me to color and cut her hair.

Saturday

The morning started off a little slow. We all need lazy Saturday mornings sometimes.

At 11 Anna had her soccer game. I was so happy that she actually played. At her age they don't really keep score, but the other team was good. There were 3 boys that were amazing with footwork, but also didn't pass the ball to their other players. They kids had fun though.

After soccer we ran to a few stores. Then home for the Cleveland Guardians game. I ended up taking a much needed and deserved nap, Brian and Anna went to Brian's brothers to watch the game and Anna played with her cousin. Austin stayed home and watched tv and played with Legos. The rest of the evening was just a lazy day until 730 for the Ohio State Football game. I gave my kids showers around 630.  At 730 Brian's brother came over. Then at 8 our one neighbor and their kids came home. It was a late night with everyone staying until 11 when the game was over. The 5 kids behaved and cleaned up the messes they made.

Sunday

I thought I set my alarm for 7am to get up and get ready for church. I rolled out of bed at 730 opps I set my alarm for weekdays not weekends. I still had time to take a shower and get myself and the kids ready.

At church Anna was back to her dancing self. You can see a little clip of her dancing at the end of the service when the kids get to play instruments. I had at least 10 people come up to me yesterday between services to tell me how much they love Anna's energy and dancing.

After church the kids had Sunday School and Brian and I connected with some other parents while waiting.

Then it was to the neighbors house for the Cleveland Browns game. This weeks theme was Philadelphia. We had delicious Phili Cheesesteaks on the blackstone on Jimmie Johns bread. Did you know you can buy "old" bread for 45 cents. Old means over 3 hours old, it is still delicious. My one girlfriend is a mixologist and made Clover Club drinks that were delicious.

For the most part the kids all played nicely together. There were a total of 9. The boys pretty much hung out in the basement playing video games and watching Youtube Minecraft. The girls were outside some and played with playdoh, the kitchen, and dolls in the house.

Anna even got her hair braided, then made me take it out as soon as we got home. It ended up being a late ish night. We got home a little after 8. It was time for pajamas, bedtime stories, and bed.

We had a great weekend.
