Last Day of School

Hey loves. School's out for summer (yes you must sing it). We are officially on summer break. Today they got to sleep in a little and this afternoon we are heading to Cedar Point for some roller coaster fun.

Kindergarten Graduation

On Tuesday Anna had her kindergarten graduation. Each teacher does something different. Parents are invited and it is held just in their class room. Anna was so excited. (side note she is officially the shortest in the class, next to her is Caz and he use to be shorter than her. There was a joke to come back and visit her teachers when and see when the kids will be taller than the teachers, Anna will probably never be taller than her teachers)

During graduation they sang two adorable songs with hand motions. Said what their favorite thing about Kindergarten was. Anna's favorite part was learning. Then they grabbed their folder and went through a couple of books they made throughout the year to see progress. Then each kid got a certificate and the teacher read a book about the end of the Kindergarten and going into 1st grade.

Anna had two teachers that were the sweetest. One worked Monday and Tuesday, the other worked Thursday and Friday, then they switched off on Wednesdays. It worked out well for us, but I know the change would not have worked for every student. They have been duel teaching for 10 years, and there is also one other set of teachers that does the same thing.

We grabbed flowers from our garden to give her.

I need to find the picture she had taken here on the first day of school to see her growth.

We officially have a 1st grader.

They encouraged taking the kids home after graduation (at 1130am) and making it a special day for them. We went out to lunch, Anna wanted french fries, that turned into Mexican for us and she got french fries and ate all the chips and queso.

Last day of 7th grade for Aubriella. She started off middle school as a star. She joined a bunch of clubs, got high honor roll, and nominated by her team best singer.

Last day of 3rd grade for Austin. He made new friends and a lot of growth in his writing, reading, and speech. He was evaluated and switched from a speech IEP to a special education IEP that is designed specifically for his needs and he is doing so well. Next year starts real letter grades (compared to passing failing)

Anna is done with Kindergarten. She loved going to school all day, riding the bus, and made so many friends. She also had learned so much and is an awesome reader already.

Last day of school tradition, to get ice cream. Ella didn't want ice cream because she had it earlier in the day and I swear she had fun and is happy to be out of school, she is just a teenager.

After ice cream Anna had a baseball game at 530. It was a quick t-ball game that I kept very organized. When it was time for batting I had the kids in helmets and ready to go when it was there turn, no goofing off. When it was time for them to be on the field, before everyone was done batting they had their mitts and hats ready to go.  It was hot and the other coaches surprised the kids with a water balloon fight.

Austin has had a game at 6 (which Brian was coaching at so I helped coach t-ball). The ump was new and calling back calls and the kids were just having a bad day. But still had fun.
