Summer Break Week 2

Hey loves. Summer is here. It is time for another weekly recap. Last week was busy with Vacation Bible School, a birthday surprise, and so much going on.

Monday June 16

Busy morning. I picked up Ella at 8am, came home finished getting myself and the kids ready to leave. Anna and Austin had their first day of Vacation Bible School at our church. They were there from 9 to 12 all week, so I worked all week in the church office the same time.

Over the weekend we had lost power for maybe 20 minutes. When I arrived at Church, none of the printers and/or copiers were working, and our sign wasn't working either. I spent most of the morning getting everything back up and running.

That afternoon Austin had a baseball game. His team won 10 to 9.

Tuesday June 17

A little calmer morning as I get Anna, Austin, and myself ready to head to church. It is always peaceful when the deer are in the woods.

An afternoon with no plans is hard to come by. Brian requested to run up to the mall and look for sunglasses. He is horrible with breaking and losing sunglasses. He normally just buys them from the kiosk in the middle of the mall. Our mall is going downhill. So many empty stores and barely any kiosks in the middle. They did not have any sunglass stores. We did check out a random geek store. The kids found some Lego and other random ideas for their birthdays.

We got home from shopping and ended the night with an impromptu evening with the neighborhood kids outside playing together.

Wednesday June 18

Getting a workout done before the crazy day starts. I had lost my dedication to get up and workout and boy was my body feeling it.
Another morning with Vacation Bible School.

We went home and grabbed Ella. First stop was McDonalds for lunch, then Dollar Tree and Target. My kids birthdays are coming up so we are taking pictures of ideas they want for their birthday.

The rest of the day was pretty lazy. Their new thing is going on YouTube and watching videos how to draw different things. Such as a bus, airplane, train, etc.

Thursday June 19

Up again getting my workout done.

It was a very rainy stormy morning. Vacation Bible School got moved all inside (instead of outside at the pavillion) I grabbed a picture of them with the dog Mascot for the week.

When I tell you it rained, boy did it rain. This was empty, the deepest part is like over 3 week. (One day it will be completely finished)

Brian surprised the kids with a full room fort while we were at VBS. They love it. You have to crawl to get in, the TV is in a different spot to watch while laying in the fort. It is a kids dream. A mother's not so much because I can't get to the fish tank or his dresser.

But it is worth it for these smiles.

Friday June 20

After Bible School the kids got to enjoy a little swimming before they went to my parents house for a date night that Brian planned. I had no idea what was all planned.

We get home from dropping the kids off because Brian claimed his stomach was bothering him (it was a lie) and I had to go to the bathroom again (not a lie) We walk in the house and in the kitchen was our neighbors with a little surprise birthday planned for me. We had a drink at the house then headed to dinner.

We had a delicious dinner at Bourbon Street Barrel Room, it is New Orleans themed.

We have been there other times but not for dinner. I hate to say the beignets were very disappointing this time.

After dinner we went to Porcos Lounge and Tiki Room for drinks. It was a fun night. I just wish I would have been feeling better and my stomach not bothering me all night.

Saturday June 21

My sister spent the night after having a few drinks and not wanting to drive home. Brian took us out to breakfast in the morning.

Heading to go pick up my kids. Ella is obsessed with Cyber trucks for some unknown reason. I always take pictures of them for her when I can.

It was a hot day but Anna still had t-ball. One parent brought this fan. I need one now.

It was a quick game with the heat and not many kids showed up on the other team. Most of the games were cancelled because of wet fields aka puddles. Austin was suppose to have a game under the lights but his game was cancelled.

The kids played outside in the pool for a few hours, while I enjoyed some reading. The neighbors also ended up over, then we ended up at their house for dinner.

Anna requested a movie night with popcorn.

We started watching Frozen on Broadway on Disney +. We only got 30 minutes if that into it before it was time for bed.

Sunday June 22

The last few weeks my bread hasn't turned out pretty. The change of temperature, the humidity in the air, turning on the air conditioning, etc. Everything effects sourdough. I was so happy it turned out this week.

The night before Brian picked lettuce from our garden before all the heat turns it bitter. I washed it before we went to church.

Church was moved inside because of the heat index. At 10 am the feel real temperature was already above 90.

After church Brian started setting up the kids waterside and found 4 baby mice in the waterslide box. (thankfully they didn't destroy the kids waterslide). He moves them to a different place.

Lunch is served outside.

While outside we heard the baby birds. There are 3 that we have seen up there.

The kids had fun playing on the water slide.

After playing for 2 hours we made the kids take a break. The neighbors went home for a little bit and our kids went inside with Ella. Brian and I made a quick appearance at a graduation party then back home to more playing.

After all the water fun, and the pool turned brown we let the kids have an hour on the tablets. Even the dog (not ours) said it was hot.
