Hey loves. Time for part two, and the last part of our road trip to the farm. Brian's sister has a farm down in Kentucky that we go and visit at least once a year. It is about a 7 hour drive but we love going. (side note, it would take just as long if not longer to fly based on the closed airport and no direct flights)
Saturday July 12
Morning view with coffee, must needed after a little stressful morning. (no this wasn't the first thing I did but was a better start picture compared to the next photo which was the start of my day)
I slept in some with Anna. She had insisted on sharing a bed with me and I didn't want her to wake up and flip out that I wasn't there and her not know where she was.
While straightening up and starting to get dressed, Anna came up to me and said mom my head hurts and I feel something. I looked and saw a tick on her head. I carried her upstairs to better light and with my brother in law's help he grabbed needle nose tweezers and helped remove the tick.
Thankfully we were able to get the whole tick out, and some skin. We cleaned the area and saved the tick in a bag (just in case). She was a trooper and didn't cry and help still. On the farm they have black ticks, compared to the brown one here so we determined she got it from home and has had a few days.
Saturday was a low key day on the farm. My kids playing with their cousins and just relaxing. It was also hot with temps in the mid-90s. The kids cooled down playing in the sprinkler.
Ella instead of playing in the water picked blueberries.
and blackberries. I helped with the blackberries, but I ate more than I put in the basket.
The farm has three families together and over 100 acres. A golf cart is a must to get around all the property. It also equals a fun stationary toy for the kids. (The kids do NOT get to drive the golf cart)
Brian, his brother in law and all the kids went for a ride to see some horses and....
the stinky pigs
Anna ate a purple popsicle and wanted to see if she tongue was purple also.
Having a drink with a cow, and a Christmas glass.
Time for some birthday celebrations. 3 of the kids birthdays are in July so they got some cake and ice cream and singing to celebrate.
Ella and I laid in the driveway the driveway watching the clouds changing shapes.
We ended the night playing a card game called Pit.Sunday July 13
We grabbed a quick dinner and Wings and Rings then headed home. We got home around 7pm, unloaded and relaxed. It was a early night with showers and back to reality the next day.
We had a fun, relaxing weekend at the farm. My kids are already asking when we can go back again.
