Summer Break Week 11- Last Week of Summer

Hey loves. I am recapping our last week of summer. Summer went by way too fast. Be sure to check out my other two posts today sharing my meal plan and Amazon Lately.

Monday August 18

Slowly working on getting back into a morning routine and earlier mornings. Up at 6am for some mindset morning.

Then downstairs for a full body workout. My body has been achy for the last few days from not working out since before vacation. I didn't think I did anything to over do it but my body said otherwise.
We had breakfast then I headed to work. By the time I left my back was screaming at me. I came home and laid on the floor on an ice pack for a little bit.

I had promised the kids we would go to At Home store for mirrors for Anna and Ella, then Sam's Club for a few odds and ends. We all agreed we would love this blow up skeleton that looks like he is crawling. However we would have to cut down the one last tree in our front year for him to fit. Brian didn't agree to that.

Ella found some yogurt for breakfast and Anna and Austin saw Christmas gift ideas.

The rest of the evening I was on the couch in a lot of pain. I called it a night early.

Tuesday August 19

Busy morning. Ella had to be at the school at 7am for her WEB program she is doing and was helping with 7th grade orientation. Brian ended up driving her so I could relax some before work.

It was teacher announcement day. I logged online to see who Anna and Austin had this year. They both have teachers we have no experience with.

Off to work for a quick day. Ella was done with helping with orientation at 1230, then she had her own locker set up and get her schedule. It was crazy and hectic. Most of her friends are on the same team, but no all in the same classes. This is the first year that she can open her locker with no issues.

Brian and the neighbors had planned a few hours at Cedar Point as the last time before school starts. I originally had all the intentions of going, but my back had other plans. I decided to stay home and rest. I ended up sleeping on and off on the couch from 4pm until 8am the next morning.

I have a love hate relationship with Life 360. We all have it on our phones to track each other (really to track Ella). I get alerts when you complete a drive. It is not 100% accurate. Ella and Brian were in the same vehicle and somehow she was going 11 miles faster than Brian. The joke is Ella rides her broomstick around the outside of the vehicle as we are driving. But seriously.

I love that they sent me pictures.

All the kids minus 1 who had an attitude. Ella took a friend and she smiled for the picture because I wasn't the one taking the picture. They had a good time. More CP adventures to come next year.

Wednesday August 20

It feels and looks like fall. The sun didn't come out all day. The humidity disappeared, temps in the low 70s, and it rained on and off all day.

I would up to Brian saying the neighbors had a deer on the front porch. I didn't see it on the porch but they were enjoying breakfast in the yard.

It started as a lazy morning with cuddles and a movie. Our Disney+ app isn't working on the main tv firestick so we have been watching Netflix. Anna picked Spookley the Square Pumpkin.

Anna cuddles. I know they won't last forever so I will take what I can get. What you don't see is I am also lying on the heating pad.

The most part of the day was a lazy day. I got up and did some computer work then would come and lay back down on the heating pad. The weather was crappy so there was a lot of tablet time for the kids.

Ella had her open house. Doesn't she look so happy for me to be taking her picture. We met her two teachers and dropped off school supplies.

Thursday August 21

I worked and took the kids to the Dollar Store, besides that I don't remember what we did. I have no picture evidence either.

Friday August 22

I am loving all the blooms from our flowers this year.

This was my Mother's Day present last year that Brian finally planted. It is starting to bloom again.

Brian has been putting feather meal on the plants this year to deter the deer and it has been working for the most part.

It was another day with cuddles and a movie. The kids watched K- Pop Demon Hunters while I napped on the couch.

Homemade pizza for dinner. Anna helped.

The kids wanted to play with their friends so one set of neighbors came over for a little bit. The boys spent most of the time in the woods. The girls played on the trampoline, in the woods, and even tried to make their own wood hut as they called it. We attempted a fire, but the wood was wet and wouldn't start. Then the kids started having melt downs

Saturday August 23

A morning of catching up on all the things around the house. From folding all the laundry I washed the day before, dishes, vacuuming, finishing getting the kids back to school stuff done, etc.

I bribed one of the neighbor girls to braid her hair if she let her dad wash and brush it. It got washed and brushed then she stopped by for a braid and was so happy.

It was the last preseason game for the Cleveland Browns. Our neighbor decided to host a little cookout. We ended up with sushi and pizza. Low key but a fun evening. Brian bought a bag and the dog decided to steal it to sleep on.
After the game the dads went downstairs to the basement and ended up taking a nap. The kids were playing inside so me and the other mom started watching Hunting Wives on Netflix outside. It is not a kid approximate tv show we had to pause when the kids needed something. The first one and a half episodes has me hooked, I need to make time to watch more.

Sunday August 24

Sunday morning church. It is nice the earlier church service is only 30 minutes in the summer. Then Anna and I headed home for 20 minutes before..

It was off to baseball. This was the first time I have ever taken Anna's tablet and headphones to keep her entertained. She watched Zombies that was downloaded since there is no wifi and I wasn't giving her my hotspot to play games. She was content and ended up singing and dancing between dugouts.

Austin played a good game and his team won.

We went from one baseball game to another. We went with our church to the Lake Erie Crushers baseball, they are a minor league team. We had front row seats right about the opposing team dug out. Austin loved being able to really see how the pitchers pitch and hitters don't move their back foot. We only stayed until the 5th inning, the first two innings were over an hour long and Anna was over baseball.

We ended the night with an end of summer backyard bonfire at our neighbors house. The kids played and ran around, the moms enjoy some wine and chatting, the dads bonfires and beers.

Anna came up to me with blood on her face excited to show me she lost her tooth but had lost her tooth. I cleaned her up then went to where she was when she noticed it was gone. I found it on the outdoor couch. (thankfully just sitting under the blanket and no mess)

She was so excited and has been showing everyone she lost her first tooth.

Monday August 25

Up at 5am ready for Ella to get home from her dads doing my mindset morning.

First workout in a while and started with some pilates.

I went to the office for a few hours then..

We took the kids out to lunch for the last day of summer treat. We let Ella pick and she wanted Applebees. It has been years since I have been there. It is no more a 2 for $20 it is 2 for $25 with most options adding on more money. I ended up just getting appetizers. The wonton tacos use to be my favorite.

Brian took the two littles home and Ella and I went to Spirit Halloween. They had an subway with all the scary Halloween dudes that jump out at you. It was kind of neat.

Open house the night before school to meet the teachers and drop off school supplies. Anna is so excited our neighbor and her best friends brother is in her class.

I may be in denial that Audrianna is in 1st grade.

After Anna's open house we had Austin's. His was a bit overwhelming for me. He has two teachers with switching classes, an intervention specialist he will work with all the time, a speech specialist and two reading specialist and we met them all in a 30 minute time frame.

Night before school book reads- First Grade Here I Come, The Night Before First Grade, and The Invisible String. I was also looking for our copy of The Kissing Hand but can't find it.
