Hey loves. We had a lot of fun over our two week Christmas break from school. We started off with spending the weekend before at Brian's sister's farm. I am quickly recapping our fun and relaxing time.
Friday
Friday was Winter party day at school. I had everything packed and ready to go Friday morning so we could leave right after school. In the morning I had Anna's party...
In the afternoon I had Austin's party. I got to sign them out of school early. We got home about 45 minutes before the bus and hit the road before they would have been home from school.
We had planned to drive to Mason Ohio and stay at the Residence Inn By Marriott because they sleep 5. Half the drive down was raining, the other half was dry.
We had dinner at Wings and Ring with Brian's brother and his family. They had left earlier in the day as their daughter didn't have school. Anna and her cousin ended up having a sleepover in the room next door to us. (She did so good, he first time sleeping over without one of her siblings)
Saturday
Morning cuddles. Austin was so excited that he got the whole bed to himself at the hotel. (Brian and I were in one bed, and Ella was in the other)
Don't we all wear a robe and slippers down to breakfast? We were not impressed with the hot continental breakfast this time (last time we stayed here we loved it).
We ate breakfast then hit the road. We had a 2 hour drive before we got to Buckees and princess fall asleep.
I didn't take many photos while at the farm this time. It was a lot more of relaxed weekend. Besides Brian's sister and brother in law that live on the farm, Brian's other brother and his husband, plus Brian's other brother, wife, and daughter were also there. We had a full house.
We had planned some activities to try and keep the kids entertained (which they ended up doing themselves). One of which was Gingerbread houses that we never got around to doing.
We also played some Christmas themed games, this one you pull a string and get a bag with a price. We also did the blindfold use a spatula to put bows in a bowl game. Oh and the saran wrap ball game with every few layers there was a lottery ticket. The kids loved all the games.
A beautiful sunset. This was the first time we have been to the farm when there are no leaves on the trees. You could see the other family house, the cows in the lower paster, the creek, deer stands, fire pit, and more.
We had a delicious lasagna for dinner and ended the night relaxing and watching Home Alone 1 and 2.
Sunday
Shorter days means later sunrises. But still beautiful over the horizon.
The hit of the weekend (which is always popular when we are at the farm) is air hockey. What the kids don't know, when we go back in the spring we will be bring the air hockey table home with us. (Brian's sister is moving to California)
Hello boots, my favorite chicken that I named. Has extra fur around her feet making her look like she has boots with the fur.
My kids love chasing the chickens and trying to catch them. They were cold and the chickens were quick so only Brian was able to catch one.
But he let Anna and his niece touch it.
There was more games, more air hockey, golf cart rides to see more animals, and lots of food. Anna had a shower before bed and play time with Uncle Mike. (side note the shower head did not come down, I was soaked after doing her hair, how do people give kids showers when the shower head doesn't come down)
Monday
Another beautiful sunrise on our last day. I should have grabbed a blanket and curled up outside and enjoyed the peace, quiet, and stillness.
One wandering cow came to the upper pastor to say bye. They usually stay in the lower pastor in the winter with the trees, and their straw bales.
It is hard to see but at the bottom fence line is all the chickens. I went out to start loading the van and they were all eating bugs or something and talking away.
We packed up, had a quick breakfast, said our goodbyes and hit the road by 9.
Our planned stop was at Jungle Jim's, which is a huge grocery store but more than a grocery store. Brian could spend hours just browsing all the different foods from different countries, even my kids love going there. Ella picked out Rambutan, coconut with water that came with a straw, and something else (I don't remember) She is all about trying new fruits.
Brian picked the little red bananas, which tasted like normal bananas just a little sweeter.
Photo opp with a Jelly Bean before we left. We were there for a good hour. It is a nice break up on our way home.
It was a nice weekend away, even though it made everything else seemed rushed not being home the weekend before Christmas. We loved spending time with Brian's family, some of which had never been to the farm, one brother hadn't been there in 20 years. It is sad that will be our only time together on the far before they sell it.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO

It looks like you had a nice and peaceful Christmas!! I hope your new year is off to a great start!
