August Carpool Book Club

Happy Thursday!!! I'm excited it is already Thursday but at the other end it is ONLY Thursday. It has been a rough week. Think of the positive and push aside the negatives. Today is going to be a great day.

It's already the last day of the month. So much to do to prepare for September, so many new things starting tomorrow and next week. But right now I am joining in Carpool Book Club that Narci over at Grace and Love does every month.
This month I read a lot. I am proud of myself. I enjoy reading and love taking the time for myself in the morning and at night, sometimes in the middle of the day too, to read a good book and let my imagination run wild.

Every morning I wake up early and get some personal development reading done for about 10-15 minutes. I like something that is motivating and inspiring.

I finished reading You are a Badass by Jen Sincero. The book really makes you think and look at your home life, you work life, your love life... It is a great kick in the ass book to get you going.

I have also started (and will have it finished this weekend) The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It was recommended to me by another entrepreneur, but I have to admit I am not a fan. It just shows not every book is meant for everyone.

My girlfriends and I started back up our book club this month. The original goal was to read one book a month and take turns who picks the books. We have been reading books so quickly that just keep picking books, and I am still getting my own personal books read in the middle.

The first book we read this month was The Light Between the Oceans by M.L. Stedman. It starts off as a slow read but then really catches you. It makes you think what would you do if you found a baby and just lost 3 of your own? I cant wait to see the movie.

Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner is a great quick summer read. What would you do for your best friend even if you haven't seen her in a few years?

The great thing about book club is reading things that you normally wouldn't, and normally don't think you like. I read this title and description and was like, I am not going to like this. Then I started reading it and was hooked. I read the book in 3 days. Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli really makes you think how you treat other people, why not to share others secrets, and puts you back in high school.

Now onto my fun reads. I told you I read a lot this month. I get a lot of my books for free or cheap from Bookbub, I get daily e-mails with books that are on sale.

I enjoy romance novels, and billionaire books. A girl can dream right. A Bride for a Billionaire by Lauren Hawkeye is about a billionaire who has 30 days to marry or he will not inherit is fathers company. Will he marry for the company or for love?

I found the series "A Billionaire Love Story, The Kisses Series" by Krista Lakes. I got a few free books by her from Bookbub. I didn't know at the time it was a series, but I love that you don't have to read them in order for it to make sense. I have read two of her books listed below and can't wait to read more. There are 9 in the series.

Another book from Krista Lakes is Champagne Kisses: A Timeless Love story. It isn't part of the previous series but is linked to it.

Lets see how many books I get to read now that Ella is in school all day, but I still have Austin at home with me, and we have a busy fall schedule.
