Happy Monday!!! We have a busy fun weekend with friends, decorating for Christmas, plus lots of Christmas lights. Normally Monday is my day to relax, today I get to get the house back in order and ready for the week ahead. Plus I have to catch up on my DVR and clean/organize/move stuff, we are getting a new cable provider tomorrow. For now here's a recap of our festive fun filled weekend.
Friday I had the honor to go with my best friend since we were 5 years old, Heather to her ultrasound appointment to check on her baby. She needed moral support just in case. She is already an incredible mother of 3, one of which has Spina Bifida.
Everything looked great. Baby is growing healthy and she is 13 weeks along. Can't wait to find out what she is having. This really gives me baby fever. (I wasn't on my phone I was using it as a camera does that count? This was after she was done with all the measurements she needed and the tech had left the room)
Friday night for dinner we finally used Ella's Awesome Achievement certificate for a free meal from BJ's Brewhouse for her first report card. She got a free kids meal and a pin. She was so excited and we love BJ's.
This is a horrible picture but it was so amazing. I got a mini personal pan California Supreme. Pepperoni, mushrooms, spinach, black olives and seasoned tomatoes, (I got it without black olives). I was only able to eat half of it, this is my new favorite pizza.
That night we also had a surprise 30th birthday party for one of Brian's friends. He was surprised and a lot of friends showed up from out of town. These boys will never grow up though, at least when they are together they act like they are still in college and have to play beer pong.
Saturday morning we finally decorated our Christmas tree, the tree had only been up for 5 days already without any ornaments. Ella had so much fun picking what ornaments she wanted to put up and where to put them, as well as being dressed as my cute little elf.
My cute little elf number 2 also enjoyed putting some ornaments up. Yes there is one branch that has 5 glitter snowflakes, 2 bells, and a train on it. I left it that way also.
The rest of Saturday we just had fun at home, while daddy had to work that night. I also baked chocolate chip cookie bars for a Girl Scout booth.
Sunday afternoon we went to North Olmsted Noel. It was a local event with fun games for kids, a large fire for roasting marshmallows, snow dogs, a reindeer, hot chocolate, lots of sweets, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and more. Here is Ella doing a snowball toss.
Her favorite game is the ring toss.
Both kids liked looking at the reindeer until he moved.
Girl Scouts had a craft station to make jingle bell bracelets and reindeer headbands. This was a huge hit with all the kids.
Fun Selfies
Sunday evening we also took a trip out to Carilise Reservation and walked through their Christmas lights. It is a half a mile paved path with Christmas decorations the whole way.
There are different scenes that were donated by different organizations. One of my favorite was this cute little snowman. There were a lot that were made out of lights, but I couldn't get a good picture.
On our way home we stopped by a house that was beautifully lit, you could see from the lightway, is listed as one of the top houses to see in Northern Ohio, and you could get out and walk around. (Austin is asleep in Brian's arms, you can somewhat make out his hat)
There was also another Santa. Ella liked talking with him. Then we had to discuss that there is more than one of Santa's helpers because he can't be at 5 million places at once seeing every kid, but there is only one Santa that comes to our house on Christmas Eve.
We have such a fun weekend. Knocked things off out Christmas Bucket List, spent time with great friends, and made memories as a family. Hope you had a great weekend.
