Weekend Wrap-up a little late

I have been meaning to post our Weekend Wrap-up for the last 2 days. Unfortunately I have been dealing with a lot of back pain and have been spending most of my time on the couch or laying in bed. Finally today I am feeling a lot better that I can sit down and type this up.

Friday was Brian's birthday. We had plans with another couple to go out to dinner at Bonefish Grill then ended the night at their house. Dinner was delicious. We shared the Bang Bang Shrimp as an appetizer. It was so good I could have eaten the whole plate myself. For my entree I got Grilled Rainbow Trout with lemon butter, steamed broccoli and fries. It was also really good. At their house the boys were sampling different bourbons that they recently received as presents for their birthdays. We also played Cards Against Humanity. You have to have an open mind, not take anything personally, and be up for lots of laughs, it really is a fun entertaining adult card game.

Since Brian and I went out on Friday night, Austin stayed with his grandma for a few hours. We picked him up at 11:30 pm, expecting him to be asleep. No such luck. He was wide awake and full of piss and vinegar. We got home and I didn't get him to bed until after 1am. Then he was up bright and early at 7:30am. (why couldn't he sleep in) He ended up taking a 3 hour nap that day though.

Saturday evening we planned on trying to knock out most of our Christmas list. We headed to Kohls, Target, Books a Million, Earth Fare (this was for me), and the mall. By the time we got to the mall it was already 8pm and little man passed out in the car and stayed asleep most of the time in the stroller.

I saw these pj's at Sears, they are so fitting for me. If you really knew why we don't have any cookies left in the house, well its because I ate way too many of them.

When we finished shopping and went out to our car it was a winter wonderland. The roads were starting to become slick, and my back was really bothering me so we decided to go home instead of do more shopping.

Sunday morning was Austin and I just relaxing and him playing with his trucks while daddy was working. I did manage to make my weekly menu and grocery list. I had all the intentions of going grocery shopping when Brian got home.

When Brian got home I changed my mind. My back was really bothering me and I had a Girl Scout event I had to be at in a few hours. I decided to lay down in bed on ice and watch a Christmas movie.

5 of my 9 girls showed up for Socks from Scouts. The girls got donations of socks to donate to a local homeless shelter. We bagged up over 300 pairs of socks (2 in each bag) while the girls made Christmas cards to go in each bag also.

These goofy girls had a lot of fun. (Yes I am the leader and a bad mom who forgot Ella's vest at home)

Sunday night we also had Brian's birthday party with his immediate family. He decided he didn't want cake he asked for homemade pie instead. But he couldn't decided which kind he wanted. He got Chocolate cream pie

and Banana cream. He also requested red meat for dinner since we don't eat it that often at home. His mother made an amazing London Broil cooked just right.

Sunday night was ended with Brian opening his gifts then going home to relax and prepare for the week ahead.
The last two days I have tried to rest as much as possible. I did go grocery shopping Monday evening with Ella helping me. Tuesday I missed her Holiday Shoppe at school that I was supposed to help work. I am glad to finally be feeling up to doing things. Now if I just had a magic cleaning fairy to catch up on all the house work I missed that would be great.

Hope you had a great weekend.
