Ideas To Entertain Kids

Hey friends. It has been one heck of a weekend. So many changes in such a short amount of time. It is so overwhelming and scary at the same time. We are all together in this chaos. From the fear, panic, and worry. No one know what the next few weeks or even months have in store but we need to keep our heads held high and stay strong we will get through this.

With the Coronavirus pandemic Ohio schools are closed for at least the next 3 weeks. The Ohio Governor stated that schools may be closed for the rest of the school year. There is so many unanswered questions around the whole situation.

I spend some time this past weekend coming up with ideas to entertain the kids while we are home, unable to really go anywhere, and wanting to avoid the "I'm Bored". I will be sharing more of our plans more in detail later this week. But we are doing family movie and game nights every night and connecting more as a family.

There are currently a lot of FREE online resources for education for kids as they are off school. None of these are sponsored, they are just what I have come across via social media.

Even though it is still winter in Ohio we are suppose to be having some nicer days and getting as much fresh air and out of the house as possible is in our agenda. Here are some outside activities you can do with your kids.

  • backyard picnic
  • homemade scavenger hunts
  • bubbles
  • chalk
  • neighborhood nature walk
  • family walk

Here are some indoor fun:
  • wallpaper coloring pages (hang all their coloring pages on a wall)
  • blanket fort
  • dance party
  • crafts
  • bake
  • board games
  • sleepover in the living room

One of my goals this week is to come up with a "I'm Bored" jar. Anytime the kids say they are bored they get to pick a fun activity to do out of the jar. I will share all the ideas I come up with.

Are your kids still in school? What State do you live in?

What are your plans for your time off with your kids.

Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,

  1. I think this will absolutely be something the kids remember as part of their childhood, I hope it isn't a traumatic memory!
