Weekends can be hard

Hey loves. Happy Monday. I am happy today the kids don't have school, this weekend was hard. Our schedule was out of whack, things didn't go as planned. Monday has caught up with us to quickly and we are not fully prepared for the week ahead. It is already going on 10am on Monday as I am just writing this post. Normally my post would have been completed the night before or first thing in the morning, like 5am. Today that didn't happen .

Audrianna fell asleep in her high chair during dinner yesterday. Her late naps messed up her bedtime routine which then throws off my evening plans of getting organized for the week. She fought being put to bed, but thankfully did sleep in her own bed all night, after falling asleep in my bed.
Here's a look back at our weekend.

Friday night Brian and I had a date night without kids. This is one of my New Year Intentions to have monthly date nights, even if it is at home. We enjoyed a nice dinner with just the two of us. I mostly stayed on track with my portion control containers. I did enjoy some firecracker shrimp. Now my body did not enjoy the shrimp. It really is about listening to what your body likes and dislikes. I also continued with my dry January and didn't have anything to drink. We also picked a restaurant that wasn't a brewery so I wasn't tempted to try local beer.

Since we had a date night, my parents watched all 3 kids for a few hours. Ella had a sleepover planned with my sister and niece. Austin had a sleepover with my parents. We just had to pick up Audrianna when we were done.

Saturday morning we grabbed breakfast came home and ate then Brian was off to work. I played with Audrianna as well as made my meal plan and grocery list for the week. Brian got home earlier than anticipated and I went grocery shopping while he played with Audrianna. Shopping took a longer than normal when shopping on a Saturday in the middle of the after afternoon the day before the big Browns game. After shopping I went and picked up the kids, which also took longer than planned as Austin put up a fight leaving my parents. He wanted to stay the night again.

Sunday was another busy day. The kids did lots of playing when time allowed. We had breakfast and got ready to head to Girl Scouts. We met at Brian's conference room so we could be socially distanced and inside. Brian had to go with us to let us in and came back to let us out to lock up also.

After Girl Scouts it was time for the Browns game. Brian went to his brothers to watch the game. By the time he got home it was time to wind down and get ready for bed. While he was gone I made and fed the kids dinner, did some playing and lots of cuddling with Audrianna. That didn't leave much time for me to get another else done.

Also we are trying Audrianna sitting at the table, feeding herself instead of sitting in the high chair with the tray. So far it has been working out a lot better, she is feeding herself, eating as a family, and drinking milk.

Today is catch up day, laundry, clean the bathroom, play with the kids, blog posts, workout, and prepare for the week ahead. I also need to get back into taking more picture of what we are doing and the kids. I think I took maybe 5 pictures if that all weekend.

Hope you had a great weekend.

  1. We have fallen into an awful habit of grocery shopping on the weekend this past month or so and it's amazing how much longer it takes to do groceries then. How fun to have a date night!
