Hey friends. It has been awhile since I have done a fun Hodge Podge link up with Joyce over at .From This Side of the Pond.

From this Side of the Pond

1. It's National Splurge Day...what's something you might splurge on today? What have you splurged on recently?

I am not a big splurge girl. On rare occasions I will buy myself a purse which I know I am going to get a lot of use out of. My recent expensive item I purchased was a grill for Brian for Father's Day. Our last one was old and paint chipping off on the inside. It will get used often by Brian because I don't use the grill and in the summer heat I don't like the cook in the house if I don't have to.

2. Do you have a beach bag? What's in it? Is a trip to the beach on your summer bucket list? Do you have a summer bucket list?

I have a Simply Southern tote that I keep all our summer gear in. It has our beach towels, sunscreen (leftover from last year just ordered new sunscreen from the wellness box), sun screen applicatorswim goggles that don't get stuck in your hair, water proof phone case, and a sun hat. If we were going to the beach I would also be bringing our beach wagon, coolermesh bags for collecting sea shells, and sand free beach blanket. A trip to the beach is not in our plans for this summer. Also yes I live 15 minutes from Lake Erie, but the lake is gross most of the time there is health warnings to not go swimming, and the rip currents have been horrible and have at least taken 5 lives locally in the past few weeks. We avoid going in the lake.

My kids and I came up with a fun summer bucket list

3. What's a song that makes you think of a summer past? What comes to mind when you hear it? What memories does it stir up for you?

LFO Summer Girls released in 1999. I remember this song playing on repeat on my boombox while we were swimming in the pool in my parents back yard.

Nelly- Hot in Herre released in 2002, driving around with my then boyfriend in his lowered car with a system booming and shaking the windows.

4. Sushi-yay or nay? Have you actually tried it? If you love it what's your go-to order?

I love sushi. My go to is a Phili or California roll.

5. I own a ridiculous amount of ____________________________________.

Clothes that I don't wear. From the if/when I go back to work at a salon, or a business job, to the this will fit again to the maybe I will dress up clothes.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I don't get the obsession to Tesla Cyber trucks. To me they are ugly and not practice. Why call it a truck when it has no real truck bed. I don't see someone hauling dirt, boards, or big equipment in it.

Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,

  1. I love your bucket list. It's a nice mix of simple treats and fun outings. We stay busy and sometimes I feel if I don't have a list it won't happen. Thinking I might make one today! Thanks for joining in today...happy Wednesday!

    1. I like the summer bucket list because it is stuff we plan on doing anyways but can look back on and say yes we did something this summer because we are not doing a big vacation.

  3. I agree about the truck; very ugly! I have been to lake Eerie so I know what you mean! I want to live somewhere I can actually swim in a lake. I know we won't live near the beach forever so that will be a must.

    1. I always say I could never not live by the beach but it is not like we use the beach like what we do on vacation.

  4. I hear you on the Tesla truck, so ugly. It's a pity that we can't enjoy so many of our lakes because of the health warnings.

  5. That's a nice extensive bucket list. As I read other peoples answer to #5, I keep saying in my head...'why didn't I think of that!' Oh boy do I have a lot of clothes I need to go through and do some purging! Happy soon to be summer to you.
