Friday Favorites

Hey friends. Happy Friday. We have made it the first full week of school. It was a rough week. We are still adjusting to the new schedules. Bedtimes are going to be key. It is all a learning process because all my kids deal differently and Anna needs her beauty rest we are learning.

This weekend we have some celebrating of birthdays, none is our house though.

Time for some Friday Favorites with these lovely ladies: Erika, and Andrea.

I am loving that the school has a new app the teachers are using for communicating. Not 5 different apps for different teachers or emails everything is all in one place for all 3 of my kids. The teachers have been sending pictures and videos throughout the week of fun things that kids are doing. Here is Austin and the characters traits that he would use to describe himself.

Oh no I have a creeper, from Minecraft. Mornings have been chilly so the kids have been wearing coats. Austin is rotating his coat but loves his Creeper coat that zips all the way up.

Ella told me she was bored. Her plans last weekend got cancelled because I was sick. I suggested she build her Little Mermaid Lego set that she got last year. She didn't want to build it before because her siblings would get ahold of it and destroy it. I said we would put it in my office in the glass cabinet .

She spent a quiet a few hours working on it on Saturday. Then realized she messed up so quite. Then on Sunday she undid it and started all over. Sunday she worked on it for a few hours. Monday she worked on it before and after school and finally got it finished. It was a good 10 hours building it. Now to get her more Disney Legos that she can build but put in my office.

Sometimes the little things can make your day better. I was sick all weekend, then I had to fast for bloodwork Monday morning and my appointment wasn't until 9. When you wake up at 5 and normally have a pre-workout, electrolyte water, coffee, and one if not two breakfasts before 8 it was a rough morning. After giving blood I ran to a local coffee shop and grabbed a bagel sandwich, pumpkin scone, and hot pumpkin latte. I saw out of the corner of my eye the barista set it on the counter and didn't put the lid on when she called my name. I was happily surprised by the foam heart when I walked over. A heart and the most delicious pumpkin latte made my morning better.

In the last few weeks both girls have asked me to braid their hair a few times. This was probably the best braid I have done in a while, then she went and messed it up.

I have been putting myself together more since my kids have been in school. I am also taking every opportunity I can to volunteer at their schools when needed. On Tuesday's I will be helping Anna's class for 30 minutes. This week I worked with 5 kids on emotions and a classroom bingo to help them learn their classmates names.

~ EIGHT ~

Anna started fall soccer. It went for arguing over taking off her dress to not wanting her hair in a pony tail, to she had a lot of fun.

  1. I hope you find a routine that works for everyone soon.
The snack guide sounds great and the school app too! It's good when you can be kept informed without too much faff.
My youngest used to have that creeper coat, she loved it until she sadly grew out of it.
Well done to Ella with the Lego and you for helping out at school.

  2. That Little Mermaid Lego set is lovely! Some of them are so tedious and so hard but your daughter did great. That App sounds like a great time saver it's amazing how many emails schools send out.... I get that they are trying to keep parents informed which is a good thing but it definitely feels overwhelming at times (and I only had 1 in school for 4 years!).
