Hey friends. How was your weekend? We had a fun and relaxing weekend. I am finally starting to be able to move more with not so much pain. It has been a long two weeks.
I am linking up with Sarah and Holly for Hello Monday.
Friday
I went to bed early on Thursday night. I was up early before anyone else on Friday. I love just sitting in peace with the lights of the Christmas tree.
It was rainy cold crappy morning. Brian went to drive Ella to the bus stop, and they missed the bus. The bus came 3 minutes earlier than normal. I ended up driving Ella to school still wearing my pajama pants. The car in front of us for drop off was another girl on the bus who missed also. We have had more issues with these bus times this year than anything. Original bus time was 650, then the bus driver told us it wouldn't be before 710, normally it is 712 oh and our app the doesn't work says the bus is comes at 704.
Brian and I spent most of the day attempting to get Christmas shopping done. What I think of Christmas shopping aka gifts is different from what Brian thought aka food. Hence we didn't get a lot checked off our lists. We also had lunch with Brian's friend. (what could have been a lunch date with just us)
Now lets talk about the Snowman above with a little extra pudge. He is cute.
We stopped home for a little bit so I could lay on ice. My mom was at the house to get my kids off the bus and Ella was going away for the weekend with her step moms family. Brian and I hit up a few more stores. I was so tempted to buy new dishes just because they are Disney. I would have to do research first to see how they hold up.
We ended the night with a fire and watching the Grinch who stole Christmas on Amazon Prime Videos. I had to purchase the video, thankfully had some digital credits from holiday purchases. I hate that the movies you want to watch around the holidays are never available to stream.
Austin doesn't like the Grinch, Anna loved it. It was her first time watching in a few years and really understood and asked 5 million questions. While we were watching the movie Austin was in the other room finishing his Lego Garbage truck. It took him about a week and he was so excited with it being complete.
Saturday
We got stopped by the parade of police cars for Shop with a Cop. The officers from all the neighboring cities take selected underprivileged kids to pick our a present for Christmas. One of the vehicles was a motorcycle with the guy dressed as a Grinch. Anna loved it.
Another morning another swim lessons. I love seeing the progress in her swimming in just 30 minutes 1 day a week. She floated on her back longer and straighter with more confidence.
After swim lessons I gave Anna a shower so I could brush her hair. (Her hair and chlorine do not get along). Brian was in my bathroom so we borrowed Ella's vanity to blow dry her hair.
We took Anna and Austin to the American Legion post in Berea for lunch with Santa. To start they had a balloon artist. Anna got a wand.
Austin got a Christmas tree.
Santa arrived on a Fire truck. Everyone went outside to greet him.
Once everyone was back inside and all the kids were seated around they sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
They had a face painter after Santa. Anna got what was suppose to be a unicorn. We are not talking about the horn was suppose to on the horse's head and not her nose.
We got a quick picture with all 3 grandkids (Ella was with her dad)
The kids had fun meeting Santa. Their timeline drove me nuts. We had to be there by 11:45 for activities which only ended up being standing in line for a balloon artist. Santa didn't arrive until after 1. They didn't have pizza until 1:45 and they wanted everyone out at 2. Oh and we have to bring a gift which we weren't told when we signed up so Brian and his brother had to run to the store to get a gift real quick. We will know better for next year.
I drove the truck home after Santa. The kids and Brian went with his brother's family to a nursery that has a large train display. The rest of the evening we just relaxed at home, took naps, kids played and we watched The Santa Claus.
Sunday
Church was the children's pageant. This year certain kids had lines, all the kids (who choose) moved around the stand, and we sang Christmas carols. Austin was a Shepard and Anna was an Angel.
Austin did good they also had hand motions when singing. Anna signed that she was hungry multiple times during the service, pouted, and made everyone happy with her dancing at the end.
After church I spent some time online ordering groceries from Aldi with Instacart, and Sam's Club. This way I knew what I was spending and just had to go pick up the stuff and not worry about my back bothering me and shopping. We have a busy week ahead and I don't want to push my limit.
During the game Brian's brother, sister in law, and niece came over. The kids played together great. We had pulled pork, chicken buffalo dip, chips, and potato wedges.
It was an early night for the would up kids that are excited for their last week of school.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
