Hey loves. Last week felt so quick with only 4 days in school but so many activities. Today I am recapping it all.
Today my heart is very heavy. From the remembrance of 9/11 to the school shooting in Colorado that the news is not talking about, a murder on a train in North Carolina, and the shooting of Charlie Kirk. All I am sure are different hate crimes. It is sad the world we live in that you can't ride a bus without fear, you can't send your kids to school without fear of every police vehicle you hear during the day. ... Until we fix hearts and stop hate we’re destined for more and more of this. It’s disgusting and the fact there’s debates on any of these humans lives is proof the hate problem is bigger than we’ve realized.
Monday September 1
A day with no major plans means sleeping in. While making breakfast I noticed Austin watching Phineas and Ferb, that was a first.
It was a much needed lazy day. I took and nap and woke up to Brian and the kids outside playing.
Our little pond is still a work in progress but Brian made a sitting rock for the kids to put their feet in. I only halfway like this idea. The deepest part of the pond is 4 feet, the rocks are not all very secure and I can just picture one of the kids falling in, not necessarily one of my kids but one of the neighbor kids.
This is what Brian and the kids were up to. They made a fort out of dead trees and branches. Brian even cleaned them a path all the way around fort where they can ride their bikes. If you ask Anna there is a doorbell, fireplace, garage, and a bathroom. I love her imagination.
I took a picture of Brian's shoe that had caught fire from a spark at our cookout the day before. It is a decent size hole.
It was an early night with baths, bedtime stories, and early bed.
Tuesday September 2
Up early diving into some me time before the busy day ahead.
"Dreams don't work unless we do. They won't just happen on their own..." I needed to hear this little reminder.
Pilates workout done from Faster Way, I have been nervous to do anything else with my back still bothering me on and off.
Kids lunches- Anna had a ham sandwich, grapes, crackers, cheese, and a brownie.
Austin had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, apple slices, cheese and crackers, and a brownie.
After the kids went to school I headed into work and worked until 3. Came home got the kids off the bus, snacks, and dinner. Brian was at an appointment. He got home and I left for a PTA board member meeting. This was my first board meeting and the first one of the year so it was at the presidents house. We went over business and got to know each other. It ended up being a long night and I didn't home until after 1030. Most of it was a social hour.
Wednesday September 3
Morning cuddles. These two started out loving and cute and ended up fighting non-stop the rest of the day. Before school they argued over toys, and who got to get on the bus first. I was thankful for a quiet day at home.
I finished watching the Hunting Wives and caught up on The Summer I Turned Pretty. If you watch either of them I would love to chat.
Anna came home from school with her bookbag broke already. The strap that holds her lunchbox came unsewn and then frayed. I have to figure out if I can fix it somehow.
Let me introduce you to Anna. She is her mother's child and shares the love of Christmas. Anna had her first library day and came home with "Pete the Cat Saves Christmas"
Austin had his first night with homework. Multiplication facts.
Anna had her first soccer practice. I had all the intentions to go watch her practices, then Brian caved and ended up coaching her team. As of Tuesday we got an email that said if a parent didn't step up and coach they our girls would not have a team to play on. Anna was so excited to play that Brian decided to coach again.
While Anna and Brian were at soccer, I took Ella and Austin to TJ MAXX. How cute is this neon pink skull mug? If it was dishwasher safe and microwave safe I would have brought it home with me.
My cute little dracula.
OMG Von Dutches are back. I threaded to put Anna and Austin in a leg when they start fighting. Thursday September 4
Fed started and dinner in the crockpot before I headed off to work.
I said it was dresstember and I planned on wearing a dress everyday I work. It hasn't happened everyday but a few times. Weather and appointments have cooperated. Sneak peek at my office.
Anna came home from school and gave me this from French.
I had the first PTA meeting of the year at the school. It was a quick night and I was home a little after 8 to put Anna to bed with a bedtime story.
Friday September 5
Kids are off to school and I headed out to Trader Joe's. First up is mobile ordering a Pumpkin Spice latte with coconut milk from Starbucks and grabbing it before I went into the store.
After Trader Joes I went to Costco and Aldi. Went home put away all the groceries and spent the afternoon cleaning and prepping for a party. My mom also dropped off some things for the party.
Saturday September 6
9am hit and Brian went and borrowed the neighbors lawn mower to cut the grass. (noise ordinance)
Anna had her first soccer game at noon. We got there a little early and she got to watch her best friend play. Look at Anna's pose with her hand.
Yes she wore a skirt to soccer.
Anna had made a huge improvement compared to last year, when I said our soccer era was over and we were never doing it again. Then Anna said she wanted to do it again and I said we will give it one more shot. She actually ran after the ball and kicked it and didn't do yoga on the field.
We hosted my dad's surprise 70th birthday. My aunt made the cake and also included my mom.
Happy 70th dad
One of my childhood friend's boyfriend rode his bike and I just had a seat. It has air ride and I could barely touch the ground with it all the way down.
We haven't all been together in 3 years. One friend I have known since we were 3, the other since 3rd grade and my sister.
It was a nice party.
Sunday September 7
Slow start to our Sunday. With our new baseball schedule and back to having indoor services at church, we can't go to church as baseball is at the same time.
It was a chilly morning, I was thankful Ella was home to watch Anna. I had on long pants and a sweatshirt and could have used a blanket too. When the sun was behind the clouds it was chilly. Austin has improved so much this fall season without the pressure. There is also one coach who is amazing with the kids and gives great direction and praise. (he normally teaches club ball)
We had Oktoberfest themed Browns game with our neighbors. Then Brian threw a nerf football with the fins on the room and it got stuck in the gutter. The dads spent a good 30 minutes throwing different objects up to get it down. It was a fun night followed by showers, bedtime stories and bed to prep for back to school.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
