Hey loves. It's the end of September. We are a month into the school year, the kids and doing all the activities, and life just took a complete 180 in the last 24 hours. Lets dive into what's on my mind, the good, the bad and the ugly. Including prayers for today's doctors appointment to get answers. (all the details below)
I love taking the time and talking about random things that I would discuss with my girlfriend over coffee or wine or water this morning. A totally random post. But I love reading others randomness too. Grab a coffee, tea, or wine and lets chat. Today Starbucks releases all things pumpkin!!!! I am sure I will grab one later today.
- Getting back into a school routine is hard. From wanting to hit that snooze button a million times to no tablets for the kids on weekdays. All the things. As soon as I get in what I think is a good routine again I have a rough nights sleep or another hiccup that messes it up. Maybe one day.
- I had my yearly wellness visit. My doctor gave me a referral for a women's perimenopausal specialist. It is not for a few months but I am ready for some possible answers and solutions.
- Speaking of doctors, I went and had my first mammogram on Friday. Ladies it is not as bad as you would think. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and that was with sitting in the waiting room for a few minutes. They took two different images, one was more uncomfortable than the other but not horrible.
- The leaves are changing colors and starting to fall. I love the smell of fall.
- I haven't sat down and watched much tv in years, minus Hallmark movies. My girlfriends got me to watch the Hunting Wives and the Summer I Turned Pretty. Now I am watching My Life with the Walter Boys.
- Working out of the house 3 days a week has really been a big change. Any working moms have tips for getting all the things done, from housework to reading, making time for myself, spending time with kids... Right now I feel like everything is struggling.
- I have read the Bible twice with The Bible Recap. I decided to switch it up this year and try a Year in the Bible a 52 week Bible study. I have to be honest I haven't liked it. I just joined a wellness group that is doing 21 days in the Bible with the Bible Recap I am hoping this is the kick start I need to get back into a routine.
- Fall baseball is over for Austin. He played 5 games and grew so much in those 5 weeks compared to over the summer. It is more laid back with focusing on the skills and less about winning. Now he is ready for basketball to start.
- Ella is doing Student Council and was just in the homecoming parade, with Brian driving the truck. She is also in WEB (where everyone belongs) and already talking about drama club that starts next month.
- Anna is enjoying soccer this season, wants to try basketball and is loving gymnastics.
- Last week Ella had a follow up with her ENT for her hearing loss. The doctor recommended a bunch of other tests to potentially see if there is any correlation between her hearing lose and something else. This could help with potential future issues. (I know there is a lot of potential and no definite answers) One of the tests they recommended was an EKG. They said they could do it in the office and we would be on our way just to get it checked off the list. (like one test could predicted that she is going to have thyroid issues and be on alert for different things) We agreed to the EKG then I got a call a few hours later that she has a prolonged QT, which she has irregular heart beats that could be life threatening. (do not go down the Google hole of all the worse case scenarios) We immediately made an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist and we go this afternoon. Hopefully we get some answers.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,
Feel free to follow along.
XOXO
I hope all is well and you find answers for your daughter's possible issue. Definitely don't go down the medical rabbit hole on the internet. Medicine is truly amazing these days and you're doing what needs to be done. My hubs has a rapid heartbeat that is well managed with medication. I will add your daughter to my prayers. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you. News actually came back good as a false issue.
