Hey loves. Happy Thursday. Its Time for the last Monthly Musings 2025 with for Patty and Holly.
1- What holidays do you celebrate?
We celebrate Christmas in our house.
2- Scale of 1 to 10- how into the are you this year? Be honest.
I would say a 4. I want to be into it more but it seems to be coming quick. We haven't drove around and looked at Christmas lights like we usually do. This month has been busy with all the activities, work, and fighting sickness.
3- Favorite things to make/bake during the holidays?
I love baking chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies with my kids. I have baked 12 loaves of bread in the last week for teacher gifts and to take with us out of town.
4- Favorite holiday movies?
The Grinch (with Jim Carey) The Holiday, Family Stone, and all things Hallmark.
5- Most random holiday tradition?
Hmm random. I don't know if we have any random holiday traditions, or it could just be they are the norm for us that I don't realize they are random. We do Elf on the Shelf, bake Christmas cookies, 25 books of Christmas (use the same books year after year), drive around looking at Christmas lights...
6- Are you hosting for the holidays? New Years Eve or Day?
Yes we are hosting for the most part.
- This weekend we are going to Kentucky to visit Brian's sister. Everyone is to go to the farm for the first and last time. They have decided to sell the farm and are planning on moving this summer.
- The 23rd we are getting together with our neighbors for a gift exchange and we are not hosting.
- The 24 we are doing nothing besides church and Christmas movies
- Christmas we are hosting with my family
- the 26th we are hosting with Brian's family
7- Favorite way to ring in the New Year?
Low key with my family and sometimes friends.
8- Any New Years Resolutions or Word of the Year?
Every year I pick a Word of the Year and a few goals I want to achieve that year. Then my monthly intentions are based on hitting those goals. I am still working on what I envision 2026 to look like.
9- Favorite holiday songs?
I could listen to Christmas music all year. I like upbeat Christmas songs. My ultimate favorite is Carol of the Bells and Sleigh Ride
10- Favorite holiday memory?
The looks on my kids faces on Christmas morning as they see all the gifts under the tree. Also (and the reason why I do what I do) their excitement every morning as they look for our Elves on the Shelf and what trouble or fun they got into.

Oh yes that excitement over the Elf is the only reason that tradition kept going because it often felt like such a lot of added stress but gosh their exclamations the next day made it totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteI miss having little kids! The magic through their eyes was always a fave- hope yours is wonderful! :)
