Hodge Podge 1.14.2026

Hey loves. Happy Wednesday. It is a two post day with two fun link ups- Hodge Podge and Let's Look.  I am linking up with  Joyce over at From This Side of the Pond

From this Side of the Pond

1. What kind of winter person are you-snow lover, fireplace snuggler, winter adventurer, or indoor hibernator? Elaborate.

I am a snow lover while being inside by the fireplace. I am not one to go outside and play in the snow, I hate being cold. I love watching snow, snow days, the excitement of waking up to fresh snow. I would rather see bright white snow then muddy mess.

2. The Pantone color of the year is cloud dancer, described as a gentle, billowy off white shade. The color symbolizes 'peace, clarity, quiet reflection, renewal, and a soft reset'. Of the terms just listed which do you need most in your life this winter?

I need a soft reset. A new year is a great time for a reset. I have learned to not do a hard reset because I always seem to back track, it is better to make slow changes.

3. Every cloud has a silver liningon cloud ninehead in the cloudsstorm clouds gathering, or cloud of suspicion...which 'cloud' idiom do you most relate to currently? Explain.

Head in the clouds - I seem to be dreaming and day dreaming a lot lately and not paying attention to everything going on around me.

4. coconut, cauliflower, cottage cheese, mayonnaise, onions, ranch dressing...of the white foods listed, which would be the hardest for you to give up? Do you like all or any of the foods on the list?

Hmm I could give up onions and cottage cheese with no issue. I have to have good ranch and I am on a roasted cauliflower kick.

5. Thomas Wentworth Higginson is credited with this quote-

"How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year."

Agree or disagree? Tell us why.

I agree. I love the season and watching everything change. Without winter there isn't the slow down, the restart and the changes I feel like.

6. Insert your own random thoughts here.

I am slowly getting into new routines. We are two weeks into the year and getting back into working out at least 3 days a week, still mending my back that seems to be taking longer to heal. I am going strong on my morning "me time" with gratitude, devotions, journaling, and Bible reading. Now to get back in a good habit of blogging.

Thank you for stopping by!!!!! If you are new here,

Feel free to follow along.

  1. We love roasted cauliflower. I sprinkle red pepper flakes on ours and it's so good. I'm all about easing in to a new year. I'm trying to re-establish some good habits I've let slide and it feels good. Enjoy your day!

The new year is a great time for a reset, I have changed a few things here and so far so good. Good job with getting back into a routine.
